Introducing Microsoft Agent Framework for Go — Public Preview

The first release of Microsoft Agent Framework for Go provides the core building blocks for creating AI agents and multi-agent applications in Go.

Highlights

  • Agent execution with streaming, structured output, sessions, history, and automatic tool calling
  • Extensible tools, middleware, approvals, and context providers
  • Graph-based workflows with routing, concurrency, checkpointing, human-in-the-loop, and multi-agent collaboration
  • Integrations with Microsoft Foundry, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, MCP, A2A, and AG-UI
  • OpenTelemetry-based tracing and observability
  • Agent Skills for reusable, domain-specific knowledge and capabilities
