Skill Recorder v0.6.1
Source-only release
Skill Recorder 0.6.1 is published from commit 3a26908cec3c4bebb8c884067c1f2bb0439db238.
This release is source-only. No installers or portable binaries are attached. GitHub's generated archives contain the tagged repository source only.
Changes
- Fix fresh Windows dependency installation using the bundled portable npm, including configuration detection when no global npm is installed.
- Preserve explicit npm settings. After a recognized public-registry network or TLS access failure, Windows retries dependency installation exactly once through an approved Microsoft registry only if no explicit npm configuration exists and a Microsoft Entra device/account hint is present. The registry override applies only to that child process and is never saved.
- Leave configured registries, successful public-registry installations, other-company devices, and unrelated failures unchanged.
- Share the bounded, sanitized tenant-hint probe with the app and improve error guidance to use bundled npm.
- Update the package version to 0.6.1 without dependency updates.
Security, compatibility, and validation
- TLS verification, lockfile integrity, dependency lifecycle-script policy, and compliance checks remain enforced. The device/account hint is a routing hint, not authorization or proof of employment.
- Windows x64, Windows ARM64, macOS, and Ubuntu CI passed on the exact release commit, including commit-pinned source installation and applicable compliance, build, test, packaging, and architecture checks.
- Implementation validation also covered 234 tests, the application build, eval typecheck, lockfile portability, license preparation (285 packages), and Windows installer/configuration tests in Windows PowerShell 5.1 and PowerShell 7.
- Manual validation limitation: a complete fresh-machine installation on the reporting user's affected Windows device has not been verified. The reporter confirmed no explicit npm configuration and a positive Microsoft tenant hint; the user chose publication followed by fresh-machine testing. Passing hosted-runner CI does not establish that the affected enterprise-network installation succeeds.
- Re-run the pinned source installer below to update. Locally assembled source builds are not redistributable release binaries. Installation remains subject to enterprise and operating-system policies.
