Actual Behavior

VSCode does not connect to the remote and kills the session. (see the log above)

Steps To Reproduce

Try opening remote connection to the local VM host.

• Just updated to macOS 15.6, I believe it was working in previous version 15.5.x.

• Name resolution for local VM is done through mDNS (avahi daemon on the guest OS - debian).

• My ssh_config file has the following section for debian-utm host:

I can close this myself. It is apparently a "feature" of macOS Sequoia, VSCode needs to be authorized to access local network in: Settings->Privacy & Security->Local Network.

Thanks for finding this and posting it. I didn't realize there was a switch for this. And vscode terminal able to access all sorts of remote servers but not able to access a local one confused me. Honestly would be nice if vscode could detect that any child process got blocked and display a meaningful alert to the user....
