Chat history synching between Claude Code and Github Copilot

Recently, I have migrated to Claude Code from GitHub Copilot. Now I see my every chat session history syncing with GitHub Chat.

Is there any option to stop this so that the Cluade chat session history will not be visible in GitHub Copilot?

Below red mark chat history is from the claude code.

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

• VS Code Version: 1.109.4
• OS Version: MacOS 26.3

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Install Claude Code
2. Do some chat and see these chats are also visible in GitHub Copilot History.

Hey Justin Chen (@justschen) another data point on this.

Setting "github.copilot.chat.claudeAgent.enabled": false does not prevent Copilot Chat from scanning
~/.claude/projects/ and listing Claude Code sessions in the sessions sidebar. The declarative when:
config.github.copilot.chat.claudeAgent.enabled guard on the Claude chatSessions contribution in the extension manifest is ffectively a no-op ; new Claude Code sessions continue to appear in the sessions list even with the flag disabled.

Repro on Copilot Chat 0.43.0:

1. Set "github.copilot.chat.claudeAgent.enabled": false in user settings
2. Reload window
3. Run Claude Code CLI in any workspace and send one message
4. The new session appears in the sessions sidebar with the $(claude) Claude label and "Claude Code session: ..." tooltip

Current options for users who want zero VS Code ↔ Claude Code visibility are all bad:

• Uninstall Copilot Chat entirely (too drastic)
• "chat.viewSessions.enabled": false ; nukes the entire sessions panel, hiding Copilot chats along with it
• Accept the clutter

Request: either (a) make the existing claudeAgent.enabled flag actually gate the session reader the way the when
clause implies, or (b) add a dedicated setting like github.copilot.chat.claudeAgent.sessionProvider.enabled so users
can keep Copilot Chat installed while hiding Claude sessions.

Troubled by the same issue. Hope a toggle can be provided to control the visibility of Claude Code sessions within Copilot

not the case here , i unistalled and unchecked all stuff related to claude so even the filters dont exist anymore YET still i still see them

when i click them its errored ... only way is i archive them manually ...

I am attempting to use both extensions side-by-side and wouldn't necessarily mind seeing Claude sessions in the Copilot Chat view (setting aside how resuming them from there would work), however the bigger problem I see is that sessions I've deleted in Claude continue to appear in Copilot, where the only option I have to remove them is to archive (when in most cases I just want a clean delete).
