Undo history seems to be unlimited, but redo history is not

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

• VS Code Version: Version: 1.128.0 (Universal)
• OS Version: Tahoe 26.5.2 (25F84)

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Hold down cmd+z for a long time (let it make like 100 undos)
2. Now hold cmd+shift+z for a long time (to redo all the changes back)

Expected behaviour: all the changes will be back, restoring the original state of the file
Actual behaviour: at some point "redoing" stops, eventually leading to a corrupted file state with only some of the changes successfully re-applied.

so it often ends with a single redo only half applied?
caused by a formatter, autosave, file actions?

Note that I am not pressing any other buttons or screw the "redo" un any way - I just hold cmd + shift + z to keep redoing and at some point you can see it stops: it doesn't restore the return null in the if block and all other edits thereafter

@RedCMD hmm. I do not press any buttons other than cmd + z and cmd + ctrl + z (for redo). However I think you're right, every time I redo it always stops when brackets are emitted. I've checked 10 different undo/redo sequence and every single of them ended up with {} open brackets for being the stop gap.
