0.2.0
The first tagged release of the Kairn v2 codebase: a ground-up rebuild in Rust and
GPUI, replacing the frozen macOS-only Swift app, targeting macOS and Linux from one
codebase. Versioning starts at 0.2.0 to mark the step past the v1 line.
This release is source-only; build with cargo run (see the README). Packaged
artifacts (.dmg, AppImage/deb) are on the roadmap.
In the box
- Daily notes, templates, calendar, week strip, and a day timeline over a
NotePlan-compatible markdown vault. - A continuous markdown editor with live styling, wiki links, tags, date refs,
selection and clipboard, undo/redo, and atomic never-clobber writes. - Tasks with real due dates, Today/Open/Overdue views, click-to-complete, and
drag-to-reschedule onto the week strip. - Real PTY terminals beside the notes: multiple sessions, SSH hosts, true colour,
scrollback, and full mouse support for TUI apps. - The
kairnCLI for agents: today, note, tasks, add, done, capture, search, and
backlinks, with JSON output, stable exit codes, and a shared activity feed shown
live in the app. - Dark and Light themes, custom themes as JSON files in the vault, font pickers, and
a quick-capture chord and jump switcher.
Added
- Terminal mouse support for TUI apps: clicks, drags, and all three buttons are forwarded to applications that use the mouse (herdr, htop, lazygit).
- Paste into the terminal with the platform paste chord, with bracketed paste for apps that request it.
- Terminals report window focus changes to applications that ask for them.
- The Settings General tab shows the app version.
