What's new

  • Fixed: managers and alternate/created attires rendering black or rainbow-striped (#1). Miss Elizabeth, Stephanie McMahon and other managers, alternate attires (the issue reported Hulk Hogan's and Macho Man's; tested with Triple H's WrestleMania attire) and attires you create now load correctly, in entrances and in matches. The game builds those textures on the GPU and then reads them on the CPU; the port now copies each one back right before the game reads it. There is no frame-rate cost.
  • New launcher: WWE 2K14 Recomp.exe. Pick resolution, frame rate, fullscreen and your game folder, then press Play. It can also back up your saves, install DLC, open the logs and open a bug report. play-wwe2k14.bat still works and reads the same settings.txt.
  • New setting texture_fix=on/off (on by default).

Updating from v1.0

Download WWE2K14-Recomp-v1.1.zip, then copy your game, update and userdata folders (and settings.txt if you changed it) from your v1.0 folder into the new one. Your saves are in userdata. Then start WWE 2K14 Recomp.exe.

New install

See READ-ME-FIRST.txt in the zip: put your own extracted WWE 2K14 disc in game (or pick it with Browse... in the launcher) and your own title update 2.0.1.0 in title-update. This download contains no game files.

Tested on Windows with an NVIDIA RTX 3080 at 4K-FSR, 60 FPS.

The first release of WWE 2K14 Recomp, an unofficial native PC port of WWE 2K14 (Xbox 360).

No game files are included. You need your own Xbox 360 copy of WWE 2K14 and its title update 2.0.1.0.

How to play

  1. Download WWE2K14-Recomp-v1.0.zip below and unzip it anywhere.
  2. Put your extracted WWE 2K14 game files in the game folder (so game\default.xex exists), or set game_folder= in settings.txt.
  3. Put your own title update file (tu00000002_00000000) in the title-update folder. It is unpacked automatically on the first start (needs Python 3).
  4. Double-click play-wwe2k14.bat.

What works

  • Menus, exhibition matches, entrances, commentary, menu music and entrance themes
  • WrestleMania mode and saves
  • 60 FPS gameplay, with entrances and cutscenes at the game's natural 30 FPS
  • 720p, 1440p, 4K, or 4K-FSR (1440p upscaled with AMD FSR: near-4K looks at 1440p speed)
  • Fixed cloth (jackets, dresses, e.g. Bobby Heenan and Miss Elizabeth)
  • Keyboard/mouse and Xbox controllers
  • DLC install via install-dlc.bat

Tested on Windows with an NVIDIA RTX 3080. Universe mode, Creation Suite and every arena and wrestler are not fully tested yet.

Reporting problems

Open an issue with what you were doing, your GPU, and the newest file from the logs folder. Never post game files.
