What's changed

A safer packaged-macOS lifecycle: the App and its embedded recorder share verified release identity, and App-owned CLI upgrades activate complete immutable payloads instead of replacing live files in place. (#188)

  • On App launch, a newer verified embedded CLI can synchronize the App-owned installation, with managed-runtime coordination, rollback, and recovery. Existing payloads remain available to already-running MCP and hook processes; unknown or modified installations fail closed.
  • CLI, API/OpenAPI, and MCP server metadata now use one installed-package version source.
  • App onboarding and manual CLI setup agree on the global store, preserve populated stores, and reject conflicting or relative overrides that could split the ledger.
  • Work events preserve handed_off as a clean terminal state and retain task/section semantic kind.
  • Public documentation now reflects the SQLite-first ledger, authenticated /v1 API, nine MCP tools, current App UI, and actual integration boundaries.
  • Release packaging verifies signing identity, source commit, App/CLI versions, notarization, and the mounted DMG before exposing release-ready output.

This synchronizes the CLI already bundled with an installed App update. It does not add automatic download or installation of new App versions. Separately managed pip, pipx, or uv installations are not taken over.

Release provenance

DMG decision: REBUILD. Since v0.10.6, src/agentacct, apps/agentacct, and packaging contain 34 changed payload-related files (+7,567/-383); dependency declarations are unchanged. The DMG is rebuilt from the exact release-PR squash commit, not reused from an earlier version.

Source commit: adab49f41cb4e4af25899d5d3910f7400821bdc0 (release PR #189).

The DMG is Developer ID signed, notarized, and stapled. The mounted App passed Gatekeeper and exact App/CLI version and commit verification.
