BuildBox 2.0.3

Choose a tag to compare

@mikevillarroel mikevillarroel released this 23 Oct 20:46

What's new in 2.0.3

Two new tabs go public:

  • Sources — add JSON app sources (AltStore & ESign formats), browse their apps, download → sign → install, all inside BuildBox. The built-in MikeBuilds Catalog is pinned at the top.
  • Add App — request an app to be featured in the catalog right from the app.

Sign tab reworked:

  • Certificate lives on its own page — Sign opens with a compact "Certificate Added / Remove" row
  • The Import IPA button is dynamic: it becomes Clear IPA once an IPA is loaded
  • App Info is collapsible (collapsed by default) at its full, readable size
  • Signature + Install App sit side by side in a pinned bar — no more hunting for Install after signing
  • Bigger, black signing log that's easier to read, with Copy Log / Clear / Close always in reach

Smarter Install:

  • Install App now verifies a REAL cryptographic signature before it lights up green — unsigned and fake-signed IPAs stay blocked instead of failing at install time

New look:

  • Page titles in the top bar (ESign-style), a flat frosted tab bar, and a professional About page

Free, as always. Sign it with BuildBox itself, ESign, SideStore or AltStore.

BuildBox 2.0.2

@mikevillarroel mikevillarroel released this 23 Oct 00:09

Dylib & package injection is here: attach .deb packages (one, several, or a .zip pack) in the Sign tab and BuildBox injects them on-device before signing — proven tonight with a real Spotify tweak, end to end on the phone.

New in 2.0.2:

  • Inject .deb / .zip tweak packs on-device (dylibs, frameworks, bundles; rpaths fixed automatically)
  • Thinned App Store IPAs that iOS refused to install now work — the device restriction (UISupportedDevices) is stripped at sign time, and embedded Watch apps are removed automatically
  • Library: one-tap Install button, Copy Log for install logs, fixed Share sheet
  • Attachments can no longer leak from one sign into the next (the sign log shows what's attached)

Unsigned IPA — sign it with BuildBox, ESign, SideStore or AltStore.

BuildBox 2.0.1

In-app update alerts: BuildBox now checks for new versions on the splash screen and sends you to the download page when one is out. Same on-device signing & install from 2.0.0, plus bug fixes.

Unsigned IPA — sign it with BuildBox, ESign, SideStore or AltStore.

BuildBox 2.0.0 — Sign & Install

Choose a tag to compare

@mikevillarroel mikevillarroel released this 22 Oct 13:17

BuildBox 2.0.0 — the full cycle, on your iPhone

v1.0.0 compiled your Swift code. 2.0.0 finishes the job: compile on GitHub, sign on-device with your own certificate, and install without leaving the app. No Mac, no PC, no uploading your IPAs to signing services.

What's new

  • On-device signing — import your .p12 + .mobileprovision once, then sign any IPA right on your iPhone. Tested with a 344 MB Instagram IPA: signed end-to-end in about a minute.
  • On-device install — signed apps install directly from BuildBox over local HTTPS. No ESign round-trip.
  • Library tab — all your signed IPAs in one place, with their real icons. Search, share (swipe right), install / remove (swipe left), long-press menu.
  • Edit before signing — change the app name, bundle ID or version right in the Sign tab. Want the same app twice with different accounts? Edit the bundle ID and sign again.
  • Import from anywhere — share any IPA into BuildBox from Files or other apps and it lands in the Sign tab.
  • New icon — the blue box, with the platform drawn on its face.
  • Signing and install logs show every step, with Copy Log / Clear.

How it works

  1. Write or import Swift source in the Compile tab — GitHub Actions builds your unsigned IPA in your own private repo.
  2. Import your certificate in the Sign tab (one time only).
  3. Sign the IPA on-device.
  4. Install it from the Library.

Requirements

  • iOS 17.0 or later
  • A free GitHub account (for Compile)
  • Your own signing certificate (.p12 + .mobileprovision) — the same one you use with ESign/SideStore

Download

BuildBox-2.0.0.ipa below is unsigned — sideload it with ESign, SideStore, AltStore, Feather or your favorite signer. Source ZIP included, as always.

Free, with an optional donate button in the About tab. Feedback welcome — open an issue or find me on X @MikeBuildsApp and in the MikeBuilds Discord.

BuildBox Beta 2.0

The full cycle, on the iPhone: compile -> sign -> install, no computer, no ESign.

  • On-device signing (zsign) — fixed: the signed app now embeds the provisioning profile
  • On-device install via a local HTTPS server with a publicly-trusted cert (localhost.direct)
  • Certificate import integrated into the Sign tab; Install stays locked until the IPA is really signed
  • Signing speed fix: system Compression framework replaces the pure-Swift DEFLATE decoder (large IPAs)
  • Cancel button next to Clear; live signing progress + heartbeat in the log
  • New icon: yellow hammer on black, OS badge bottom-center
  • Compact Sign tab; Compile auto-names the project from your ZIP/code

Beta: signing speed on very large IPAs is still being verified. Unsigned IPA — sign with your own certificate.

v1.0.0 — Compiler Edition

BuildBox v1.0.0 — Compiler Edition

Compile Swift source into unsigned IPAs, straight from your iPhone. No Mac needed.

How it works

  1. Write or paste your Swift code, or import a source ZIP
  2. Hit Compile — it builds on GitHub Actions inside your own private repo
  3. Download the unsigned IPA when it's done
  4. Share it, or sign it with ESign / SideStore / AltStore and install

In this release

  • Compile tab: write, paste or import source; live build log with a spinner that shows exactly where the build is; Copy Log / Clear buttons
  • "Continue to Sign →" jumps to the Sign tab
  • Big blue buttons with strong press feedback, TendieMaker-style

Notes

  • Compiling needs a free GitHub account (uses your own free Actions minutes). Your code goes only to your repos — never to me.
  • The Sign tab is still "Coming soon" — on-device signing is in the works. For now, export the unsigned IPA and sign it with ESign.

Unsigned IPA — sign with ESign, SideStore, or AltStore.
