1.13.1
v1.13.1 – Countdown date fix
Fixed
- Countdowns showed the wrong day in time zones behind UTC – fixes #2, reported by @ryanbuckner. Thank you! 🙏
Countdowns with a fixeddate:showed one day early (and one day too few) in places like the US and Canada. Home Assistant saves an unquoteddate: 2026-10-24as2026-10-24T00:00:00.000Z(midnight UTC), which is the evening before over there. Those dates are now read as the calendar day itself, wherever you are. Date-times with a real time still count down to the exact moment. No config change needed.
Docs
- README examples now quote dates (
date: "2026-12-20").
1.13.0
v1.13.0 – Planner view 🗓️
New Planner view, like a printed family planner: days down the side, one column per person with their photo on top.
Tap an empty box to add an event straight to that person’s calendar on that day.
Birthdays, holidays and weather sit next to each date. Today is highlighted and weekends are shaded.
New calendar option planner_column: false shows a calendar (e.g. Family) next to the date instead of in its own column.
Works with wall/fullscreen mode (days stretch to fill the screen), on phones (columns scroll sideways), and with the Event size slider.
default_view: planner is supported, and Planner is in the visual editor in English, Polish and Spanish.
1.12.0
v1.12.0 – Appearance: bigger, clearer day boxes
Hide countdowns – show_countdowns: false removes the strip so the calendar gets the space.
Compact countdowns – countdown_style: compact shows them as one slim row of pills, about 60% shorter. Tap or hover a pill to see its date.
Countdown size slider – countdown_size: 50–150 (%).
Day & event size slider – event_size: 80–160 (%) makes day numbers, weather and event titles bigger and Month/Week boxes taller in every view.
Hide calendar buttons – show_calendar_chips: false.
Everything is in the visual editor under the new Appearance section, in English, Polish and Spanish. Settings you leave at their default aren’t written to your YAML.
1.11.0
New: calendar groups. Give calendars the same group name (also in the visual editor) and they share one button in the calendar bar that shows or hides them all at once, with the members’ photos and a count. A partly visible group shows e.g. “1/2”, and the arrow opens the group to toggle members individually. Hidden/visible choices are remembered per device.
1.10.0
New to-do features for recurring chores (#1, thanks @LiebenS): group tasks by due date (todo_group_by: due – Overdue / Today / Tomorrow / each day / Anytime), limit to the coming days (todo_days_ahead), and show future repeats from a linked calendar such as Chore Calendar (todo_calendar, read-only, no duplicates). A collapsible Done section (todo_show_completed, todo_completed_days) lists recently completed tasks with when and who – the card records “Done by” when a task is ticked – and lets you un-tick them. All options are in the visual editor and translated (EN/PL/ES).
1.9.1
Tidier visual editor: each calendar is now a compact, collapsible row showing its colour, name/photo, entity and type – tap to open its settings. Colour, reorder and remove still work without opening the row, new calendars open automatically, and Expand all / Collapse all help with long lists. Missing calendar entities are highlighted in red. The Theme section now collapses to show just the current theme.
1.9.0
New: night mode and screensaver for always-on screens. Night mode darkens the screen on a schedule (or when an entity is on) with a dim clock showing tomorrow’s first events and weather, or simply dims the calendar; tap or a motion sensor wakes it, and the clock drifts slightly to prevent burn-in. The screensaver starts after a few idle minutes and shows a slideshow from your Home Assistant media folder (or a clock-only screen) with time, weather, upcoming events and the next countdown; one tap closes it and the calendar returns to today. Both are in the visual editor, translated (EN/PL/ES), and never activate while editing the dashboard.
1.8.0
New: translations! The card and visual editor are now available in English, Polish and Spanish, following your Home Assistant language automatically (or set language:). Includes correct Polish plurals and localised tags you can type in Google/Apple Calendar (e.g. #urodziny, #imieniny). Polish extra: new Imieniny (name day) event type – all-day, yearly, with countdowns for the next two name days in their own colour; also available as a calendar type. Fixed: weather descriptions now use sentence case, and form labels adapt to longer translations.
1.7.0
New: edit events. Tap an event and choose Edit to change the title, time, type, repeat, location or notes in the same form used for adding. One-off events can be moved to another calendar. For repeating events, choose “This event” or “This and following” when saving. Event types and birth/anniversary years are preserved. Edit only appears for calendars that support updating events in Home Assistant, and can be turned off with allow_edit: false.
