v2.6.2

@mina86 mina86 tagged this 14 Sep 14:52
The two main changes in the 2.6.2 release are code optimisations and
inclusion of `py.typed` file.

The optimisations minimise performance hits caused by the typing
annotations. Some operations (most notable key lookup, `get` method and
`{shortest,longest}_prefix` methods) are significantly faster than in
the 2.5.0 release. Unfortunately, type annotations have a cost and many
remaining operations are slightly slower. (See Version History section
of the documentation for more info).

Furthermore, the release includes `py.typed` file which is required for
type checkers to ‘notice’ that the package has type information
included. This was supposed to be added in the 2.6.0 release, but was
overlooked.

Refer to the Version History section of the documentation for more
detailed description of changes.
