v0.4.1
What's New in v0.4.1
This release fixes an all-black terminal tab for people who installed Herdr with its install script, and a pane that could show an agent-team teammate's conversation as its own.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Terminal tabs no longer open all black. If you installed Herdr with its install script,
herdrlives in~/.local/bin, and Flockbook opened from Finder did not look there. Flockbook now findsherdrin~/.local/bin, Homebrew and/usr/local/bin(orHERDR_BIN). When a terminal still cannot start, the tab says why and shows a Retry button. - Agent teams: a pane now shows only the lead's conversation that Herdr gave it, never a teammate's. While Herdr has not reported the lead's log yet, the pane says so and offers the terminal. The phone shows the same.
- The first-run check now also tells you when Flockbook cannot find the
herdrprogram.
⚙️ Changes
- Flockbook now checks for updates once an hour instead of once a day.

v0.4.0
What's New in v0.4.0
Flockbook now shows pictures in the conversation: the screenshots you paste and the pictures an agent reads, on the Mac and on your phone.
✨ New Features
- Pictures in the conversation, on the Mac: A screenshot you pasted into an agent shows in your message, and a picture the agent read shows under its tool calls. Click a picture to open it in Quick Look. Flockbook reads pictures from the agent's own log only when they come into view, and lets them go again when you scroll away.
- Pictures on your phone: The phone shows the same pictures. The Mac sends a small preview when the picture comes into view, and the full picture only when you tap it. The phone keeps pictures in memory only. To turn this off, go to Settings > Remote > Show pictures on remote devices.
- Drag a picture to close it on the phone: In the full-size view, drag the picture up or down to close it, like in Photos. A short, quick flick closes it too. A tap, a sideways swipe, a pinch, or a drag on a zoomed picture does not close it.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- On the Mac, queued messages no longer make the window taller than the screen and push the message box out of view.
- Queued messages, the message box, and question and approval cards now line up with the conversation column.
- With many tabs, the selected tab always scrolls into view, and in full screen the tab-row buttons stay next to the tabs.

v0.3.0
What's New in v0.3.0
Flockbook now runs on macOS 15, shows the messages an agent has queued and lets you pull them back to edit, and loads older messages by itself as you scroll up, without losing your place.
✨ New Features
- Queued messages, on the Mac and the phone: Messages you typed while an agent was busy show in a strip above the message box until the agent takes them. For Claude Code you can pull them back into the box to edit them. Flockbook takes text back only when it can read it exactly from Claude Code's log, and it never loses pulled text. Codex's queue is shown, but you edit it in Codex's own terminal.
- Older messages load as you scroll up: Near the top of a conversation, older messages come in by themselves, on the Mac and the phone. The message you are reading stays where it is, also across several loads in a row. A fast fling starts the load early, so you keep scrolling instead of stopping at Show earlier. The button is still there.
- macOS 15 support: Flockbook runs on macOS 15 Sequoia. Before macOS 26 it uses a look without Liquid Glass. On macOS 26 nothing changes.
- Conversations open at the newest message: A conversation opens at its newest message and stays there as new ones arrive, until you scroll up.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- A tab with several long conversations no longer slows down or hangs: the app kept dropping and re-measuring the message text on screen.
- On the Mac in full screen (a taller top bar), new messages now keep the view at the bottom, instead of piling up below it.
- On the phone, scrolling or holding the scroll bar no longer stops following new messages for good. Only your own scrolling stops it.
- On the phone, sending a message clears only the box you sent it from, and a draft you changed is never cleared.
⚠️ Known Limits
- On macOS 15, scrolling up pauses briefly (about 0.15 to 0.2 s) each time a batch of older messages loads. On macOS 26 the pause is shorter. The message you are reading stays in place. A faster layout is planned.
- Pulling queued messages back works for Claude Code only. Codex shows its queue on screen only, without its exact text.
- The phone's notice for older messages was tested in a phone-sized browser, not on a real iPhone. If a fast fling stops early on a real device, please report it.

v0.2.0
What's New in v0.2.0
Flockbook now works from your phone. Read your agents, answer them, and get a notification when one needs you, from an iPhone, iPad or Android phone over your own Tailscale network. On the Mac, long conversations no longer stall, you can select and copy any message, and the app updates itself from now on.
✨ New Features
Your agents on your phone
- Remote access: Open your agents in the phone's browser and add the page to the Home Screen. You see the agent list, each conversation and its state, with the Mac app's look. It is off by default. Turn it on in Settings > Remote access; a checklist walks you through Tailscale Serve and pairing by QR code. Only your own Tailscale devices can reach it, never the internet. Requires Tailscale on the Mac and the phone.
- Reply, Allow and answer from the phone: A paired phone can read. Turn on input for it in Devices to send messages, Allow or Deny approvals, and answer questions with options. Codex questions work as is. Claude Code questions need a hook that you install from Settings (it shows the exact line it adds to
~/.claude/settings.json, and Uninstall removes only that line). If the question on screen does not match exactly, the phone tells you to answer on the Mac and sends nothing. - Push notifications: Tap Notify me on the phone to get a notification when an agent needs you or finishes. Tap the notification to open that agent. By default, notifications are sent only when you are away from the Mac (no input for 2 minutes, or the screen is locked); you can change this and turn off "done" notifications in Settings > Remote access > Phone notifications, where you also see each phone, send a test, or remove it. Notifications carry the agent's name and state, never conversation text. At most one per agent per 2 minutes and 6 per minute; extra ones are summed up as "+N more". iPhone and iPad need iOS/iPadOS 16.4 or later and the page added to the Home Screen.
- Notifications from your agents:
flockbook-notify "Title" ["Body"]lets an agent or a script send its own phone notification through the running app. Settings shows the command's path; Flockbook does not change your PATH. - Send images from the phone: Tap + to attach up to 4 photos (10 MB each) from the camera or library. The Mac re-encodes each image and drops location and camera data before the agent gets it.
- Full Markdown on the phone: Headings, lists, task lists, quotes, code blocks and tables show as they do on the Mac. Wide tables scroll sideways.
- Phone message box: One line is a pill; it grows for more lines or images. You can keep typing while an agent works or compacts its context.
Conversations on the Mac
- Select and copy any message: Drag across paragraphs, lists, code and tables in one message, then press ⌘C. Copy gives plain text. Code blocks have Copy Code. VoiceOver users can use the Select Text action.
- Messages you sent while Claude Code was working: A message you typed during a turn now shows in the conversation, on the Mac and on the phone.
Updates
- Automatic updates: Once a day Flockbook checks for a new version and installs it only after you agree. Turn the check off in Settings, or use Flockbook > Check for Updates…. Versions 0.1.2 and earlier have no updater: install 0.2.0 by hand once.
🚀 Improvements
- Long conversations stay fast: A conversation opens with its newest 100 messages. Show earlier adds 100 more, up to 150 at once; past that, Jump to latest brings you back to the newest. Before, a long session could freeze the window for seconds.
- First run says what is wrong: If Herdr is not installed, not running, or its socket is closed to you, Flockbook says which one and shows the next step (the install page, or the command to start it, ready to copy) with Try Again, instead of "Connecting…" forever.
- Settings is a page in the main window, not a separate window.
- Approval notifications say what they approve.
- Scroll bars follow your system setting, also with a mouse attached, and stay thin.
- The website and README say plainly that AI agents build Flockbook, with a human reviewing every change.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- An approval card whose log lagged behind the screen now sends Allow, instead of nothing.
- An image pasted on the Mac reaches Claude Code as an image, not as a plain file path.
