Zelda on PC 1.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 25 Oct 16:18

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.4.0.exe below (Windows), or ZeldaOnPC-1.4.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz (Linux, experimental). Run the installer over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

Fixed:

  • Minimap markers stay on the map. They used a wrong scale (as if the minimap showed 120 m around you; it shows about 44 m), so they moved slower than the map and seemed to follow you. They now take the map's own scale, center and rotation, so they no longer drift when you walk.
  • No lag when turning the camera: the markers now use the minimap of the very frame on screen, so they turn together with it instead of trailing behind.
  • You will see fewer markers on the minimap than before: the ones that showed up from farther away were out of range.

Zelda on PC 1.3.9

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 24 Oct 11:15

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.3.9.exe below (Windows), or ZeldaOnPC-1.3.9-linux-x86_64.tar.gz (Linux, experimental). Run the installer over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

Fixed:

  • Naming your horse: keys bound to game actions no longer close the name entry (Shift for sprint, Backspace, I / J / M and the others went to the game). While the keyboard is up, everything you type goes into the name, and the keys of the on-screen keyboard can be clicked with the mouse. Enter or the tick confirms.

Zelda on PC 1.3.8

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 23 Oct 21:12

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.3.8.exe below (Windows), or ZeldaOnPC-1.3.8-linux-x86_64.tar.gz (Linux, experimental). Run the installer over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

New:

  • Motion Control in all three axes (#39): while Motion Control is on (T), the mouse wheel turns the Sheikah Slate flat (left / right, like a steering wheel lying on a table), and Maximum Tilt now goes up to 180Β°, so the slate can go all the way round, also upside down.
  • The mouse tilts the slate the same way on screen however it lies, so the controls never turn inverted.
  • The slate follows the mouse like a GamePad in a hand: it starts and stops turning softly, and no faster than a hand would (Maximum Turn Speed, 300Β°/s by default). A quick flick no longer throws it over.
  • Middle mouse button while Motion Control is on: the slate goes back flat. Rebind it under Controls β†’ "Motion Control: Level the Slate".
  • New in Esc β†’ Motion: Turn per Wheel Notch, Invert Turn, Maximum Turn Speed, Tilt Smoothing.

Fixed:

  • With the Extended Memory mod on, the menus were no longer recognised (clicks went to the game, the PC settings were missing from the System page).

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 23 Oct 18:17

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.3.7.exe below (Windows), or ZeldaOnPC-1.3.7-linux-x86_64.tar.gz (Linux, experimental). Run the installer over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

New:

  • Mods page (Esc β†’ Mods): all the Cemu community graphic packs for the game, grouped as Enhancements, Mods, Cheats and Workarounds, each with an on / off switch and its presets (Draw Distance, Weather, Day Time, Cel Shading, Infinite Stamina, Durability and more). Your own mods are listed under Your Mods: graphic packs you put in the mods folder (Open Mods Folder, for example exported from BCML) and the ones of your Cemu installation.
  • Most packs apply at once, while you play. Packs that replace textures or game files (Enhancements, Draw Distance, Extended Memory and some of your own) apply on the next start, and the menu shows "Some changes apply after restarting".
  • Infinite Arrows keeps the last arrow of a stack too (the community pack still used it up).

Zelda on PC 1.3.6

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 23 Oct 16:12

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.3.6.exe below (Windows). Run it over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

New:

  • Shops: the mouse wheel turns one page per notch (several notches queue up and turn quickly), and clicking a category gets there faster.
  • Linux (experimental): ZeldaOnPC-1.3.6-linux-x86_64.tar.gz is a portable Linux build (built on Ubuntu 24.04, Vulkan and GTK 3). Extract it, read README-Linux.txt to point it at your game, and run ./ZeldaOnPC. AMD FSR 3 frame generation is not available on Linux. Thanks to @evaunit13 for the Linux port (#37).

Zelda on PC 1.3.5

Choose a tag to compare

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 23 Oct 15:18

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.3.5.exe below. Run it over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

New:

  • Inventory category jump: clicking a category goes straight to its first page, however many pages lie in between (for example Dishes from Weapons with several pages of Materials); the last page slides in and the cursor lands on the new page.
  • Mouse wheel pages: in the inventory the wheel now turns one page per notch with a short slide; several notches at once jump over the pages in between instead of catching up page by page.
  • Inventory Page Turn setting: Esc β†’ Game β†’ Instant / Smooth / Slow (the game's own slide).
  • Motion Control indicator: while Motion Control (T) is on, a badge at the top of the screen shows it; turning it off shows "OFF" for a moment.
  • Linux: the source now builds and runs natively on Linux (Wayland / X11, Vulkan), contributed by @evaunit13 in #37. There is no Linux download yet.

Fixed:

  • Flicker with frame generation: the whole picture could flicker around the weapon and bow wheels, the map and other menus on variable refresh rate (FreeSync / G-Sync) screens, because frame generation stopped there and the shown frame rate dropped. It now keeps running through these screens.
  • Inventory category clicks stopped inside Materials when it had several pages.

Zelda on PC 1.3.4

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 22 Oct 17:45

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.3.4.exe below. Run it over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

Fixed:

  • Tab no longer turns the Interactive Map back on: with the Interactive Map turned off, pressing Tab (or Ctrl+F) on the world map turned it on again, which kept happening when Tab is bound to opening the map. Tab now only jumps to the marker search while the Interactive Map is on; turning it on or off is H or Esc β†’ Game.

Zelda on PC 1.3.2

Choose a tag to compare

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 22 Oct 00:32

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.3.2.exe below. Run it over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

What's New:

  • Interactive Map Markers on the Minimap Compass: Nearby interactive map markers (chests, koroks, shrines, bosses, materials, etc.) now appear directly on your HUD minimap compass during exploration, rotating with your orientation and smoothly fading near the edges of the radar. Includes a toggle under Esc ? Game ? Minimap Markers (on by default), and ensures markers load instantly on boot.
  • Master Cycle Zero 1:1 Mouse Camera: Hooked the riding camera update for the Master Cycle Zero (0x02BDFB20) with direct mouse yaw and pitch control, matching the 1:1 responsive camera feel of horseback riding.
  • PC Menu Version Display: The Settings menu now displays the current release version (PC Edition v1.3.2) in the header and footer.

Fixes & Improvements:

  • Menu Flicker with Frame Generation: Fixed aggressive UI flickering when opening menus or dialogs while AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation was active.
  • Map Cursor Icon Clipping: Removed an invisible clipping bounding box near the map cursor that hid icons on the interactive map when zoomed in.
  • Alt+Tab / Unfocus Stability: Fixed keyboard input getting latched or stuck when Alt-Tabbing or switching window focus.

Zelda on PC 1.3.1

Choose a tag to compare

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 19 Oct 22:27

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.3.1.exe below. Run it over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

Fixed:

  • Mouse buttons randomly remapping during gameplay (#13): left click would stop attacking (acting like nothing was bound) and right click became sprint. Defunct UI text boxes from closed screens/menus remained cached in memory with non-zero alpha, leading to phantom "Cancel" actions being evaluated as visible. When this occurred, input logic incorrectly treated free exploration as active rune mode, remapping Attack to interact (A) and Bow to cancel (B / sprint). Unparented or orphaned layout roots are now strictly treated as invisible.

@mircea32000 mircea32000 released this 19 Oct 19:11

Download ZeldaOnPC-Setup-1.3.0.exe below. Run it over an older version: saves and settings are kept.

New:

  • Interactive World Map: an interactive companion built directly into the Sheikah Slate map screen (M).
    • Over 20,000 markers: Shrines, Towers, all 900 Korok Seeds, Treasure Chests, Hinox, Stone Talus, Molduga, Lynels, Goddess Statues, Fairy Fountains, and more.
    • On-the-fly Search & Category Filters: filter any category on or off and search for specific items (e.g. ancient arrows, royal claymore, armor).
    • Live Save Tracking: automatically reads completion status from your live game save to dim or hide opened treasure chests, completed shrines, activated towers, and collected Koroks.
    • Quick Map Centering: click any search result or press Enter to instantly center the game map on that location.
    • Master Toggle: press H on the map screen or toggle in Esc β†’ Game to show/hide the interactive markers and filter panel.

Fixed:

  • Settings Commit Safety: fixed a crash when toggling game settings while graphic packs were reloading.
  • Vulkan Vertex Indexing: resolved 16-bit vertex index overflow when rendering tens of thousands of map markers on Vulkan.
