Warbell v0.17.0
Warbell v0.17.0
The combat overhaul. Fights now flow like a real duel — dodge rolls, gliding attacks, combo
chains, parries and ripostes — the warband takes turns instead of dogpiling you, and the whole
cast and world got a sculpt-and-polish pass.
New
- Witcher-style combat feel. A proper dodge roll on Alt — a forward tumble with
invulnerability frames and its own gritty grunt — plus attacks that glide you a step into the
blow, combo chains that flow swing into swing, and parry / riposte when you block a strike
on time. - An earned combat stance. Get near a foe and the knight draws into a guard: he faces the
enemy and strafes around it, Witcher-style, with a combat-aware camera that frames the fight
instead of trailing behind you. - The horde takes turns. A melee attack-token ring means only a few orks can commit to a
swing at once — the rest circle and wait — so you're pressured, not instantly gang-swung by a
whole mob. A subtle ground ring shows who's locked on. - Sculpted warden bosses. All five biome wardens were remodeled — real sculpted silhouettes
instead of stacked cuboids. - A more human hero. The knight's proportions and gait were reworked to read as a person, not a
blocky mannequin, and the held sword now sits properly in the hand at rest. - A fuller world. Reworked pine trees (whorled, feathered boughs), new meadow life around the
castle clearing, and a forest-edge hero spawn.
Combat & feel
- Richer hit FX and a real hostile-target set behind the new stance.
- Forward roll is the default evade; a fix so the attack-token queue can never starve (enemies
always eventually get their turn to strike).
Atmosphere & visuals
- Cinematic haze — height fog, sun in-scatter and drifting cloud light-patches over a retuned
filmic grade. A master on/off lives in the graphics panel, and it auto-clears while you're in
build mode for a clean read of the plots. - Music mix — quieter daytime bed under the world SFX; every run opens on the same signature
day track, and later days re-roll for variety. - Thinner roads and a smoother wetland / sea shoreline.
- Siege-scene polish: directional hit-shake, a live swinging war bell, a war-dusk surge, and shields
on orks and guards.
Site
- The website gains itch.io links and a live GitHub-star button, with fresh in-game
screenshots throughout.
