@mistaboom mistaboom released this 23 Oct 22:47

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.12

Available for Minecraft 1.21.1 and 26.1.2, on Fabric and NeoForge. Choose the download matching both your Minecraft version and loader, and install the matching build on the server and every client. Minecraft 1.21.1 uses Java 21; Minecraft 26.1.2 uses Java 25. Fabric requires Fabric API and Architectury API; NeoForge requires Architectury API. JEI remains optional.

Minecraft 26.1.2 support

  • Adds Fabric and NeoForge downloads for Minecraft 26.1.2 alongside the existing Minecraft 1.21.1 builds.
  • Shares gameplay, machines, progression, networking and interface behavior across the supported versions, with native rendering, persistence and loader integrations for each target.
  • Includes the recent glaive input and rapid consecutive attack fixes.

Modpack compatibility

  • Fixes a NeoForge 26.1.2 startup crash encountered in All the Mods 11. Explosion guard and Containment Field hooks now select the correct native explosion method while preserving normal damage, knockback and player synchronization.
  • Pack Tester now recognizes the unused Forge metadata pointer shipped by TrimsEffects in FTB Evolution 2, allowing the pack's supported Minecraft/NeoForge target to resolve correctly. Required dependency and duplicate-mod checks remain active.
  • Adds automated checks for explosion hook selection and actual native explosion behavior, including Containment Field activation and removal.

Updating

Beta.12 adds no saved-format or configuration break over beta.11 and requires no new world/profile reset when updating within the same Minecraft version. The beta.8 fresh-world/fresh-configuration requirement still applies when updating from beta.7 or earlier; see the earlier release notes for that upgrade boundary.

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.11

Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21, Fabric or NeoForge. Install matching versions on the server and every client. Fabric requires Fabric API and Architectury API; NeoForge requires Architectury API. JEI remains optional.

Glaive artwork and animation

  • Includes the updated glaive blade, blade accent, and longer shaft artwork, with matching blade collision bounds.
  • The head and upper shaft now slide together smoothly during extension and retraction. The grip stays anchored in the hand, with overlapping shaft sections hidden inside the palm to prevent gaps.
  • The glaive returns to rest when retraction finishes, independently of the attack recharge indicator. It no longer holds the final animation frame while recharge continues.
  • Brief, smooth pivots connect rest, attack, and return poses instead of snapping to the 45-degree attack angle.
  • Preserves server-controlled damage timing, tier reach, and attack-speed bonuses. Rapid consecutive attacks finish the previous return before preparing the next attack without delaying damage playback.
  • First-person transitions account for camera rotation, walking bob, and differing hand/world fields of view.

Updating

Beta.11 adds no saved-format or configuration break over beta.10 and requires no new world/profile reset. The beta.8 fresh-world/fresh-configuration requirement still applies when updating from beta.7 or earlier; see the earlier release notes for that upgrade boundary.

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.9

@mistaboom mistaboom released this 18 Oct 22:04

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.9

Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21, Fabric or NeoForge. Install matching versions on the server and every client. Fabric requires Fabric API and Architectury API; NeoForge requires Architectury API. JEI remains optional.

Ascendance Glaive

  • Adds a normal six-tier, two-handed Ascendance Glaive, using the existing equipment stats, Infuser progression, durability, fracture, repair and soulbound systems.
  • Left click performs a 120-degree swipe; each valid victim receives a full resolved hit before its defenses. Right click performs a faster half-damage stab that stops at its first physical contact. Both share recovery and retain free camera movement.
  • Ordinary tier ranges are 4 / 5 / 6 / 8 / 9 / 10 blocks. Long-range actions use bounded sampled collision for performance; very thin or grazing contacts between samples can be missed.
  • Craft the Latent glaive with three Latent Ingots and two sticks, then use the normal five Infuser upgrades. Check the Archive or recipe browser for the shaped recipe and active-server requirements.
  • Keeps offhand inventory operations ordinary. Empty hands and approved passive items such as Totems of Undying allow attacks; incompatible offhand equipment produces a throttled Incompatible offhand item message. Shields cannot block or provide this mod's held-shield reflection while two-handed gear is selected. Totems still function normally.
  • Adds trident-style rest and shoulder-driven attacks, a rigid blade and butt, and an extending shaft that repeats the original three wood pixels without stretching. Both blade and butt accents share tier/personalized tint and glow. Tiny diagonal shaft pixels can shimmer at distant or oblique views.

Archive and documentation

  • Adds an Ascendance Glaive Guide lesson, searchable combat/offhand guidance and live equipment/action Reference details.
  • Allows Guide sections with multiple lessons to use the existing entry navigator, while single-lesson sections retain their full reading width.
  • Refreshes the pack-maker wiki around configuration, generation, overrides, reports and administration. Players should use the in-game Archive for gameplay lessons and current server values.

Updating and verification

Back up your world and configuration before updating. Beta.9 introduces no additional saved-format break over beta.8 and requires no new world/profile reset. When updating from beta.7 or earlier, the beta.8 fresh-world/fresh-configuration requirement still applies; older item identifiers and generated formats are not migrated automatically.

The full common regression suite, both loader builds and native combat/policy/presentation/progression fixtures passed locally. This does not certify every modpack, GPU/shader combination, real multiplayer visual case or saved-world recovery path; those remain integration checks. The earlier 16/64-block prototypes are not gameplay ranges in this release.

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.8

@mistaboom mistaboom released this 18 Oct 02:22

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.8

Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21, Fabric or NeoForge. Fabric requires Fabric API and Architectury API; NeoForge requires Architectury API. Install matching versions on the server and every client.

Start with fresh worlds and Essence Ascendance configuration. Item identifiers and generated configuration formats have changed without migration. Back up existing installations before updating.

Balance and configuration

  • Improves generic pack equipment references and Skill/Bonus generation using shared native attributes and tool rules. Vanilla and normal ATM10 passed isolated generation, rebuild and saved-profile restart checks; modpack balance remains approximate and may need tuning.
  • Gives Latent gear an iron-era foundation, then scales higher tiers toward measured pack equipment. The Essence Caster deals less damage than the bow, fires faster and has shorter range.
  • Adds editable Skill unlock tiers, rank counts and first/maximum stat values in skill_settings.toml. Bonus active tiers and effect bounds now live in bonus_settings.toml.
  • Clarifies global settings, advanced overrides, reports and diagnostics. Apply edited balance settings with /essence admin balance rebuild.
  • Improves generic recipe quantity and reversible material handling without content-specific valuation rules.

Equipment, recipes and interface fixes

  • Renames the Ascendance Blade to the Ascendance Sword, including its internal identifier.
  • Keeps equipment and armor variants ordered from Latent through Transcendent in creative listings and JEI's creative sorting stage.
  • Corrects tier-specific crafting and Infuser recipe matching, removes armor-trim recipes, and changes the Archive recipe to a vertical stick, Raw Latent Ore, stick.
  • Lists generated Latent Ore variants alongside the existing variants in JEI and creative tabs.
  • Improves narrow Archive layouts, long item names, unnamed yield filtering and tab navigation.
  • Cleans up the completed Transcendent Ascendance display, small-scale symbols and tier text.
  • Improves Tool Instinct's initial mining behavior and avoids repeating JEI search indexing already completed for the current tooltip revision.
  • Makes Info, Settings and membership popups move only the JEI area on their actual side, keeping page controls with the items.
  • Fixes a JEI startup failure caused by an unavailable internal sorting callback. The corrected integration passed native hook checks with JEI 19.53 on Fabric and 19.54/19.57 on NeoForge; optional late-variant sorting now fails safely if that hook is unavailable.

The added glaive artwork remains an authoring asset; this release does not add a playable glaive. Pack generation checks do not establish perfect valuation or complete gameplay balance for every item and Skill.

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.10

Pre-release

@mistaboom mistaboom released this 18 Oct 23:04

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.10

Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21, Fabric or NeoForge. Install matching versions on the server and every client. Fabric requires Fabric API and Architectury API; NeoForge requires Architectury API. JEI remains optional.

Equipment fixes

  • Right-click block interactions, machine menus and item frames take priority over glaive stabs and fishing-rod casting/reeling. Weapon use follows when the normal interaction does not consume the click; look away from an interactive target to stab or reel.
  • Interaction animations no longer trigger unintended glaive swipes. Both weapons can be placed in item frames normally.
  • Includes refreshed glaive blade and butt shading, preserving the existing pixel silhouettes and geometry.

Modpack startup fix

  • Fixes a server-startup crash encountered in All the Mods 10 when Supplementaries equips its simulated player while discovering faucet behavior. Equipment policy and glaive animation updates now check for a live play connection before negotiating network support. Simulated players still receive normal equipment-rule evaluation.

Updating and verification

Beta.10 adds no saved-format or configuration break over beta.9 and requires no new world/profile reset. The beta.8 fresh-world/fresh-configuration requirement still applies when updating from beta.7 or earlier; see the earlier release notes for that upgrade boundary.

Regression coverage includes personalized inventory/cursor/drop/transfer behavior, native block-menu and item-frame interactions, and simulated players without a live network channel on both loaders. The startup crash was reproduced before the connection fix. Full ATM10 gameplay remains a separate integration check.

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.7

@mistaboom mistaboom released this 16 Oct 02:38

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.7

Following the major balance overhaul, this release is currently balanced for vanilla only. Modpack balancing, including ATM10, is unfinished. Successful loading and automated checks do not mean a modpack's item values, equipment, Bonuses or Skills are correctly balanced. Further tuning and investigation will follow in a later update.

Use a fresh world and fresh Essence Ascendance configuration. This overhaul does not migrate earlier saves or generated balance settings. Back up your existing installation before starting over.

Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21, Fabric or NeoForge. Install matching versions on the server and every client. Fabric requires Fabric API and Architectury API; NeoForge requires Architectury API.

Balance overhaul

  • Replaces the old valuation engine with a simpler, bounded system based on shared item properties, common tags and recipes. Material properties, declared rarity and reversible crafting conversions help distinguish values without bespoke mod rules.
  • Removes quest-based inference, bespoke KubeJS inspection and content-specific valuation adapters. JEI and functional FTB integrations remain.
  • Moves Skill placement to an editable configuration with the default tree layout. Rank counts and effects remain generated.
  • Generates editable Bonus start/end tiers and minimum/maximum rewards. Meaningful minimums remain, and Bonuses can finish before Transcendent.
  • Uses additional damage points for damage Bonuses and scales their requests against the matching weapon family. This is an initial improvement, not completed modpack balance.

Fixes and presentation

  • Bonus access follows the player's tier: intact eligible Dormant gear can channel a Transcendent player's earned Bonus while retaining Dormant innate stats.
  • Bonus tooltip tiers run from Transcendent down to Dormant, with N/A outside the active range.
  • Prevents injected inventory buttons from overlapping the shared fullscreen interfaces.
  • Handles extended item rarities without aborting balance generation.

Known limitations

Modpack Bonus and Skill scaling, some equipment and ingredient values, generated ore listings, narrow Archive layouts and blank-name yield entries still need investigation. Tool Instinct startup behavior and the JEI refresh delay after rebuilding balance are also reported issues. These are deferred, not claimed fixed in this release.

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.6 — Startup Crash & Essentium Fixes

Choose a tag to compare

@mistaboom mistaboom released this 14 Oct 01:12

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.6

Fixes

  • Fixed a duplicate Infuser soulbinding network payload registration that could prevent NeoForge modpacks such as All the Mods 10 from starting.
  • Preserved stored Essentium face values across balance-profile rebuilds so already-created Essentium carriers keep their original stored value instead of being reinterpreted by later balance changes.

Installation

For Minecraft 1.21.1 and Java 21.

  • NeoForge: Requires Architectury API.
  • Fabric: Requires Architectury API and Fabric API.
  • For multiplayer, update the server and all clients to the same 1.0.0-beta.6 version.

World compatibility

Upgrading from beta.4 or earlier still requires a new world.

The beta.5 multiplayer update changed player balance, team membership, and machine ownership save data. Beta.6 does not change that migration requirement.

Existing beta.5 worlds can continue into beta.6.

Beta feedback

Essence Ascendance remains in beta. Please include your Minecraft version, loader, mod version, reproduction steps, and relevant logs or crash reports when reporting issues.

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.5 — Multiplayer

Choose a tag to compare

@mistaboom mistaboom released this 13 Oct 18:22

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.5

A new world is required when upgrading from beta.4 or earlier. This multiplayer update changes how Essence Ascendance saves player balances, team membership and machine ownership. Older EA saves are incompatible and there is no automatic migration. Back up and keep your existing world with its matching older mod version. Do not delete individual player-data files or edit save-version numbers to force an upgrade.

Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21, Fabric or NeoForge. Install the matching beta.5 build on the server and every client. Fabric requires Fabric API and Architectury API; NeoForge requires Architectury API.

Multiplayer and shared infrastructure

  • Adds native teams and optional FTB Teams/Open Parties and Claims membership integration.
  • Team members share Stored Essence and infrastructure; Available Essence and invested progression stay personal. Joining shares existing Stored Essence, and departures retain the member's recorded remaining share.
  • Supports concurrent Crucible channeling and shared machine consumers, with coordinated accounting and machine access checks.
  • Adds team/access interfaces, clearer machine ownership and link status, and readable team, machine and membership commands.
  • Improves Infuser start/approval, soulbinding, paid-work recovery and automation behavior.
  • Updates the Ascendance Archive and the wiki for multiplayer mechanics, commands and administration.

Fixes and administration

  • Requires an explicit team name when approving a request creates a native team; existing-team approvals retain their name.
  • Extends provider-activation review to about five minutes at normal server speed, with a visible countdown, explicit expiry guidance and clickable command suggestions.
  • Accepts FTB Teams 2101.1.11 with FTB Library 2101.1.30, 2101.1.36 or 2101.1.37. For membership and FTB Quests evidence together, use Quests 2101.1.36, Teams 2101.1.11, Library 2101.1.36 or 2101.1.37, and Architectury 13.0.11. OpenPAC membership supports 0.32.7. Use the correct loader variants and their required dependencies.
  • Serializes mod-site publishing jobs to reduce upload contention seen in previous releases.

Before starting your new world

Install your chosen team provider before the world's first startup. With the default AUTO selection, supported FTB Teams takes priority, then supported OpenPAC; otherwise EA uses native membership when no unsupported external provider blocks selection. An established world retains its selected provider. Switching providers later does not migrate existing machine ownership.

This is a beta release. Automated accounting, command, presentation and loader checks cover the tested paths; real FTB activation and ownership of a newly placed Crucible have also been confirmed. Broader two-client, offline-member, unloaded-machine, restart and graphical acceptance checks remain ongoing. Recovery from a crash between player-data and chunk saves is not guaranteed. Please include your loader, dependency versions, reproduction steps and relevant logs in bug reports.

@mistaboom mistaboom released this 12 Oct 20:54

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.4

For Minecraft 1.21.1, on Fabric and NeoForge.

Ascendance fishing rod

  • Added the Ascendance fishing rod with all six equipment tiers, tier-colored rod and hook artwork, Infuser progression, and Archive guidance.
  • Water casts use ordinary fishing, including native loot, open-water checks, Lure, and Luck of the Sea. Fishing Speed improves the native fishing countdowns.
  • Hook blocks to pull yourself toward the anchor, or hook supported entities to pull them toward you. Start pulling with a strong hook-setting tug, steer the opening burst by looking sideways, up, or down, then keep holding for steady reeling. Release to detach while retaining momentum.
  • Improved close-range pulls so hooked targets settle in front of the caster without passing them and rebounding away.
  • Shortened rod tooltips into separate range, hook speed, hook gravity, pull force, and reel speed lines.
  • Surface Tension supports exposed liquid surfaces while sprinting or holding a compatible fishing rod. Added the Water Skiing advancement for sustained travel across water during a block-anchor pull.

Equipment browsing

  • All six Ascendance shield tiers now appear in JEI and the creative inventory.
  • Reordered ingredients to place the Ascendance Matrix, raw Latent Ore, Latent Nugget, Latent Ingot, and Latent Block before the Essentium sets. The Raw Latent Ore Block remains under Natural Blocks.

Updating an existing world

Run /essence admin balance rebuild to generate the new fishing rod tier values and Fishing Speed balance for your loaded pack. Existing player progress and human configuration are retained.

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.3

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@mistaboom mistaboom released this 12 Oct 03:15

Essence Ascendance 1.0.0-beta.3

For Minecraft 1.21.1, on Fabric and NeoForge.

Progression and storage

  • Dormant mining tools now start at the native iron-pickaxe speed benchmark. Latent tools rise with that entry point, while later tiers retain a smooth curve toward the pack-calibrated maximum.
  • Rebalanced the shared purchase budgets: early skill ranks cost more and Bonus states cost less. Prices still follow the loaded pack's resource supply, progression effort, native effects and conditions.
  • Increased Crucible base storage and every pylon tier's storage contribution tenfold. Transfer speed, throughput and the tier curve remain separate.
  • Tool Instinct remains available, but no skill requires purchasing it.

Enchantments and survival

  • Enchanted-book dissolution now accounts for actual enchantment type and level, with category-specific yields and diminishing returns for combined enchantments. Archive entries and tooltips use the same values.
  • Shared native enchantment evidence also informs skill and Bonus competition. Unsupported custom effects remain explicit instead of receiving invented strength.
  • Material valuation now distinguishes functional demand from repeated decorative recipes and accounts for native harvest quantities, correcting inflated copper values.
  • Restful Mending repairs durability points rather than a percentage of maximum durability: at least 1 point/second for the first rank and +1 point/second for another meaningful rank. Stronger generated ranks remain possible.
  • Metabolic Mending uses durability points per intrinsic food point. Inner Sustenance keeps its recovery but no longer grants full-reserve hunger immunity. Automatic Feast Reflex meals obey the generated eating cadence.
  • Doubled the default Latent awakening effort. Ascendance Archive delivery is unchanged.
  • Added the new Ascendance Matrix artwork and updated crafting recipes.
  • Improved acquisition-source propagation, probabilistic renewable recipes, cached recipe-ingredient handling and saved-rank compatibility.

Updating an existing world

Run /essence admin balance rebuild to publish the new generated balance. Existing human configuration is preserved: set onboarding_effort_fraction = 1.0 before rebuilding if you want the longer opening and your file still says 0.5. Existing player progress and purchase/refund records are retained.

Custom-mod mechanics without supported evidence can remain unvalued or conservative. This beta does not claim complete compatibility with every modded effect.
