Floatlet 0.7.0

Choose a tag to compare

@mithilkatkoria mithilkatkoria released this 27 Sep 11:54

Floatlet 0.7.0 refreshes the Windows island and adds native Search.

  • New Floatlet icon across the app and website.
  • Timer ruler, analog stopwatch and clearer persistent timer alerts.
  • Call activity can show the detected app's icon. One device-wide microphone mute control and Open call app remain available.
  • Search ranks apps first, supports local indexing or Everything, and lets you record a shortcut.
  • The interactive website starts with a quiet resting pill and includes updated clock previews.

Caller and group names, incoming call answer, deafen and hang-up are not available through Windows microphone session metadata. Use the call app for those actions. This is an unsigned x64 preview for Windows 10 and 11. The standalone EXE runs directly; the ZIP contains a per-user install script and documentation.

Floatlet 0.6.3

Clearer call controls: one mute button, a headset symbol, a persistent Show calls setting, and Open call app. Turning Show calls off immediately hides microphone activity and disables its monitoring.

Direct participant names, hang-up and Discord deafen are not implemented. Those require an approved Discord voice integration; use Open call app to access native controls. Microphone mute remains device-wide.

Windows 11 x64 unsigned preview. EXE runs directly; ZIP includes installation scripts.

Fix calendar connection feedback. Rejected or unavailable feeds no longer appear as an empty synced day. For a private Google Calendar, copy its Secret address in iCal format, not its public address. Existing settings and subscriptions are preserved.

Windows 11 x64 unsigned preview. The EXE runs directly; ZIP includes installation scripts.

Floatlet 0.6.1

@mithilkatkoria mithilkatkoria released this 12 Sep 09:27

Floatlet 0.6.1 adds app icons and multiple Google Calendar subscriptions.

  • Media sessions without artwork use their Windows app logo when available, with a music-note fallback.
  • Add or remove up to eight private Google Calendar links in Preferences, then Save.
  • Events merge chronologically with duplicate filtering and five-minute reminders. Healthy feeds continue syncing when another feed is offline.
  • Existing single-calendar subscriptions and startup settings are preserved.

Validation: all five native test suites passed, including multi-link validation and event merging. Calendar dialog checked in a native review window. Personal feeds and every third-party app icon are not account-tested.

Download Floatlet.exe to run directly, or use the ZIP for installation scripts. Windows 11 x64; Snapdragon PCs use Windows emulation. Unsigned preview.

Floatlet 0.6.0

@mithilkatkoria mithilkatkoria released this 12 Sep 09:08

Floatlet 0.6.0 makes the icon-only music capsule slightly wider, adds original camera/calendar/alarm icons, and keeps timer and alarm alerts active until Dismiss is pressed inside Clock. The alarm-clock icon shakes in short bursts with reduced-motion support. Opening the island or pressing Escape does not acknowledge an alert.

Google Calendar subscriptions now refresh about once a minute and show one reminder per upcoming timed occurrence within five minutes of its start. Setup is guided inside Preferences. Google feed publication delays still apply; all-day and stale offline events do not trigger reminders. Your private subscription link stays encrypted for your Windows user.

The open shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+F12, releasing Ctrl+Alt+Space for Flow Launcher. Installer upgrades can explicitly enable startup with -EnableStartup. The main website download is now Floatlet.exe; the ZIP with installation scripts is still available.

Windows 11 x64 on Intel/AMD, or ARM through emulation. Unsigned preview. Alarms require the app to stay open and do not wake a sleeping computer. No zero-resource or battery-savings guarantee.

Validation: all five native suites passed, including 38 clock and reminder assertions. A real one-minute timer remained active beyond the previous timeout and after Escape. Website typecheck, five tests, build and 184 local links passed. No personal calendar feed is connected yet, so actual account sync is not claimed.

Floatlet 0.5.0

@mithilkatkoria mithilkatkoria released this 12 Sep 08:40

Floatlet 0.5.0 adds live compact stopwatch text, expanding timer and alarm alerts, a dismissible chime, larger hover controls and a small audio-reactive waveform. The waveform is capped at 12 DIP and does not resize the pill. Waveform updates stop when a clock or alert is displayed.

For Windows 11 Intel/AMD x64 PCs, and Windows 11 ARM PCs through x64 emulation. It is not limited to Surface devices. No native ARM64 build or Windows 10 support is claimed. Brightness and wireless controls depend on hardware support.

Download the ZIP, extract it and run Floatlet.exe, or use the included per-user installation script. Existing settings are preserved. The release is unsigned. Verify the SHA-256 checksum. The app must remain open for timers and alarms; it does not wake a sleeping PC.

Validation: five native suites passed locally. Website type checking, state/policy tests, static build and 184 local links passed. Full battery, GPU, all-monitor and screen-reader validation remains outstanding.

@mithilkatkoria mithilkatkoria released this 11 Sep 21:21

Floatlet 0.4.0 renames the app, executable and shortcuts while preserving existing settings and startup preferences. It includes the minimal idle pill and silent handling of shortcut conflicts.

Native Windows x64 preview. Windows on ARM uses emulation. Unsigned software. Four automated suites and the GitHub Windows build passed. See the repository for integration limits. No battery or new resource-use claims are made for this release.

@mithilkatkoria mithilkatkoria released this 11 Sep 19:27

Glide Island is a native C++20 Dynamic Island companion for Windows 11.

Music artwork and hover controls, a file reference tray, volume and supported brightness sliders, nearby Wi-Fi, quick timers, an interactive calendar and optional read-only Google Calendar subscription. Includes in-island preferences and microphone activity/mute controls.

Download the ZIP for installation instructions and scripts, or the standalone EXE for portable use. This is an unsigned x64 preview; Windows on ARM runs it under emulation.

Night light and some system controls open Windows interfaces. Caller photos and answer/end commands, AirPods battery reporting and full calendar-standard coverage are not implemented. See README and CHANGELOG for exact capabilities and limitations.

Validation: four automated suites passed, composition drawing passed, and 18,100 native window assertions passed across three monitors. Two short installed-process samples measured 0.199% to 0.5681% total-machine CPU and 46.58 to 123.93 MiB private memory. Activity was uncontrolled, so these are observations rather than an idle guarantee. Battery and GPU impact were not measured.

No private calendar URLs or user screenshots are included. The calendar link is entered locally in Preferences and encrypted for the Windows user.
