GitHub Explorer 0.4.2
GitHub Explorer 0.4.2 bundles the complete repository workbench: embedded Vim editing and saves, repository files above the GitHub CLI catalog, repository settings, arrow navigation, twelve Git/GitHub shortcuts, hideable actions, and persistent branch/change/PR status.
Install with Homebrew:
brew install mithudso/tap/github-explorer

npm install -g @mitchphudson/github-explorernpm requires Node.js 18+, uv, GitHub CLI, Git and Vim on PATH. It bundles the application wheel and pins Python dependencies. Published and installation-verified as @mitchphudson/github-explorer. The npm tarball is also included in the release assets.
Both distributions support macOS and Linux and expose github-explorer and ghx. Homebrew uses the author's tap, not Homebrew core. See README for setup, CLI options, hotkeys and editor behavior. SHA256SUMS covers the wheel, source archive and npm tarball.
Validation: 90 Python tests, three Node launcher tests, macOS/Linux CI on Python 3.11 and 3.14, an installed npm tarball smoke test, and a Homebrew source build, formula tests, style and strict audit.
