DirtyFrag v1.08

Choose a tag to compare

@mitschud mitschud released this 04 Oct 19:15

DirtyFrag v1.08

What's changed

Added

  • KernelSU Modules toggle - a new card that disables or re-enables all installed KernelSU modules (applies at the next boot). Requires root; the state is read live from the device.

Fixed

  • Remove KSU/KSUD wording improvements and clearer root-permission messages

Other

  • versionCode 28, versionName 1.08

Install

  1. Run the exploit - root is active immediately, no reboot needed
  2. Install the official KernelSU Manager: https://github.com/tiann/KernelSU/actions/runs/35973514328 ("Manager" artifact, scroll down)

@mitschud mitschud released this 04 Oct 16:24

DirtyFrag v1.07

What's changed

Fixed

  • Remove KSU/KSUD hardening - the in-app removal now performs explicit, predictable file removals and manager uninstall; no unexpected side effects during removal

Added

  • In-app update check - the version number in the header sits in a small pill that turns lime with "Update available" whenever a newer release is published here; tapping the header opens the releases page
    update pill demo

Other

  • versionCode 27, versionName 1.07

Install

  1. Run the exploit - root is active immediately, no reboot needed
  2. Install the official KernelSU Manager: https://github.com/tiann/KernelSU/actions/runs/35973514328 ("Manager" artifact, scroll down)

DirtyFrag v1.06

@mitschud mitschud released this 02 Oct 14:02

DirtyFrag v1.06 - upstream sync (Oct 1-2)

What's changed

Exploit / upstream merge

  • Patch diabl0w#1 verify fix - the page-cache verification of the patched crash_dump64 now reads at offset 16 and compares against sh_buf+16; the old offset-0 comparison could false-fail and abort a working run
  • ksud synced with diabl0w's KernelSU fork (Oct 2) - the official KernelSU Manager can now be installed without version mismatch; also fixes the rescue party turning soft reboot into hard reboot
  • DEFEX hook fix on some devices - both task_defex_enforce and task_defex_user_exec are hooked (all payloads rebuilt; already carried in v1.05)
  • android14-6.1 support removed - not working upstream (accidental mitigation), payload dropped to shrink the APK

App

  • Failure screen restyle - bars + labels turn red on failure; labels read Failure / Reboot and the run pill is disabled until the device is rebooted
  • Version tag in the header aligned to the text baseline
  • versionCode 26, versionName 1.06

Install

  1. Run the exploit - root is active immediately, no reboot needed (reboot is only required after a failed run)
  2. Install the official KernelSU Manager: https://github.com/tiann/KernelSU/actions/runs/35973514328 ("Manager" artifact, scroll down)

DirtyFrag v1.05

@mitschud mitschud released this 01 Oct 20:33

DirtyFrag v1.05 — first release of this fork.

  • Merges diabl0w's DEFEX bypass rework: task_defex_enforce kprobe hook with address-based registration, all 8 KMI payloads rebuilt, plus run diagnostics (patch verification, readable crash_dump bridge error codes)
  • Hardened autorun: boot-time soft reboot is a separate toggle, off by default; a failed boot-time run disables autorun instead of retry-looping
  • Expert Mode: autorun options are gated behind a menu toggle, off by default
  • OneUI-style inspired UI
  • APK shrunk to ~6.2 MB via R8

Install the KernelSU manager ("manager" file) from the actions flow: https://github.com/tiann/KernelSU/actions/runs/35973514328

Tested: android12-5.10, android13-5.15, android15-6.6, android16-6.12. See README for the full table.
