DNS Zone File Import Support

This release introduces comprehensive support for importing DNS zone files into a project, including validation, preview capabilities, and job tracking.

New Endpoints:

  • dnsCreateDnsZoneFileImport: Parses an uploaded RFC-1035 zone file and returns a structured import plan detailing target DNS zones and potential conflicts. Supports a dryRun parameter for a side-effect-free preview. When executed, it performs an all-or-nothing import and returns the created job ID.
  • dnsGetDnsZoneFileImport: Retrieves the current status and details of a specific DNS zone-file import job.
  • dnsListDnsZoneFileImports: Lists all DNS zone-file import jobs for a project. Supports pagination (limit, skip, page) and sorting (createdAt), defaulting to newest-first ordering.

New Models & Schemas:

  • CreateZoneFileImportResponse: Contains the import plan (zones), conflict details (conflicts), and optional job id.
  • ZoneFileImport: Represents the status of an import job, including createdAt, status (running, succeeded, completedWithErrors), importedZones, and skippedZones.
  • ZoneImportPreview: Details a specific target zone to be created, including name, alreadyExists flag, targetProjectId, and associated recordSets.
  • ImportConflict, ImportRecord, ImportRecordSet: Define the structure for validation errors, record details, and record-set metadata (TTL, type, values).
  • Supporting enums: ImportConflictCode, ImportConflictRecordSetType, ImportRecordSetType, ZoneFileImportStatus.

DNS Zone Creation for Verified Ingress

A new endpoint has been added to streamline DNS zone provisioning for domains owned via verified Ingresses.

  • dnsCreateProjectDnsZone: Creates a DNSZone within a Project for a verified Ingress. The backend automatically determines if the domain should be provisioned as a root zone or a subzone using the public suffix list. This enables projects to prepare DNS infrastructure for domains not yet hosted at Mittwald once ownership is proven.

Deprecation Notice

  • DnsCreateDnsZone: Marked as deprecated. This legacy operation is superseded by DnsCreateProjectDnsZone for verified ingress zones and DnsCreateDnsZoneFileImport for bulk zone file management.

Schema & Documentation Updates

  • App Schema: Added an optional description field of type TranslatedString, enabling localized descriptions with de and en language support.
  • Documentation Clarifications: Updated docstrings for MailClient (rate limit change requests) and UserClient (password reset flows) to accurately reflect asynchronous email delivery and approval workflows.
