Hi Rick, Good news: I got hold of the FTX-1's CAT manual and had a look. It's built on the same command set as the already-supported FTdx10/FT-710 — same frequency format, same identification handshake, same general command family, just a different ID code ( Given how close it looks, it's actually worth you just trying it directly rather than me guessing from the manual first: hook the FTX-1 up to YWC, go to Settings → Radio Connection, and select "FTdx10" as the Radio Model, then see what actually works — frequency read/set (try turning the VFO knob and clicking on the dial), mode change, S-meter, PTT/TX indication. YWC doesn't hard-check the radio's identification code against the model you pick, so nothing will refuse to connect — worst case some commands just get ignored or misbehave. A couple of things to know going in:
Whatever breaks or behaves oddly, tell me here — that's much more useful than me reverse-engineering it purely from the PDF, and would save a lot of back-and-forth once I do sit down to add it properly as its own model. In the meantime, get the FTdx10 hooked up whenever you're ready too — that one's ready to go today, no experimentation needed. 73, |

Thanks for the reply Colin. yes I did the IF mod to me FDX10 and have a SDR
Play device attached, but no big deal to take it off. Will try it again in
the next couple of days. I tried the FTX-1 but it did not seem to respond.
I'll try again. The usb connection opens 3 com ports when the radio is
connected to the PC. I may have given the wrong com port and that may
explain the issue.

on the same command set as the already-supported FTdx10/FT-710 — same
frequency format, same identification handshake, same general command
family, just a different ID code (0840 vs the FTdx10's) and a wider
frequency range covering 6m/2m/70cm as well as HF.
Given how close it looks, it's actually worth you just trying it directly
rather than me guessing from the manual first: hook the FTX-1 up to YWC, go
to Settings → Radio Connection, and select *"FTdx10"* as the Radio Model,
then see what actually works — frequency read/set (try turning the VFO knob
and clicking on the dial), mode change, S-meter, PTT/TX indication. YWC
doesn't hard-check the radio's identification code against the model you
pick, so nothing will refuse to connect — worst case some commands just get
ignored or misbehave. A couple of things to know going in:
- Stick to HF/6m frequencies for the test — the FTdx10 profile won't
expect the FTX-1's 2m/70cm range and may reject or mishandle those.
- Don't have an SDR plugged into the FTX-1's antenna port during this
(if you were even planning to) — the FTdx10 profile assumes no rear IF tap,
and that warning exists for a reason.
Whatever breaks or behaves oddly, tell me here — that's much more useful
than me reverse-engineering it purely from the PDF, and would save a lot of
back-and-forth once I do sit down to add it properly as its own model.

Well, I switched back to my Ham PC and brought up the browser and it is
working. Have not tried everything yet, but HF VFO reporting fine and your
program is super fast at responding/displaying the frequency when I turn
the VFO knob on the radio! Will play with it some more. Thanks.

Pretty darn cool. I have my uhf and vhf mems running on VFOb. You program
is reporting these frequencies as well. Just off by one decimal point.

This looks great. I have a FTdx 10, but also a FTX-1. I like this web based solution concept. Was wondering if there were any plans to expand the supported models and possibly add the FTX-1? Of course I had to take a chance and see if the FTX-1 might work on this app. Lol.
Have the FTDX 10 unhooked right now, but will set it up over the next week and try this out. I wrote "C" code for many years, but have not kept up with all the new programming methods. Love to dig in and look at the source code sometime.
