Scope Isolation & Bug Fixes

Highlights

  • Complete scope filtering on all MCP reads — open_nodes() and read_graph() now respect scope isolation, matching search_nodes(). Previously they bypassed filtering entirely
  • scope_reads parameter — generic boolean on MCPBridge to control read filtering (replaces hardcoded agent-type checks)
  • Tiers + hierarchy fix — agents in both tiers and hierarchy.children no longer silently lose parent scope
  • Resource leak fix — MCPBridge properly closes DB connection on init failure
  • Cross-platform encoding — explicit encoding="utf-8" on all file I/O
  • Domain-agnostic templates — briefing templates use neutral terminology

Breaking Changes

open_nodes() and read_graph() now filter by scope chain when scope_reads=True (default). Agents that previously saw the full knowledge graph will now only see entities in their scope tree. Set scope_reads=False on MCPBridge for orchestrators or admin agents that need full visibility.
