I use semantic versioning for models that do actually result in code and to the extent it applies to non-software documents.

Note that each state model in a domain is versioned independently of the others. The leading 3 here refers to the third generation of the elevator case study, not to anything about the Door class in particular.

The grammar just sees a string.
