Glassio 1.9.5

@mohammadmrh12 mohammadmrh12 released this 24 Oct 23:26
  • Apple TV-style menu: go up to the settings button and a Control Center-style menu opens: clock, date, weather (high / low, feels like, humidity, wind, city), then Library, Glassio settings, Android settings, Wi-Fi, Themes and Background. It can open by itself, with OK, or be off, and every part can be hidden (Settings → Menu, Library & themes).
  • Library: a + button between Play and Next saves the title. The page is grey with five posters a row: OK opens the title, hold OK removes it. It also shows your Nuvio account library, shared by Nuvio Legacy, official Nuvio and the forks that sync with the account (sign in with a QR code), and your Trakt watchlist. The + button can save to both.
  • Themes: Black on white, Black AMOLED, Liquid, Clear, Glass still and Glass is glass, for the dock, the icons and the menu. The black ones keep a clear matte dock, and Colour on focus is in the same list.
  • Your own background: keep each title's backdrop, or use a picture or a video (from a link or the backgrounds folder), or the screensaver's aerial videos. With your own background the title, details and buttons step aside, and the glass follows the video.
  • Turn the accessibility service on with ADB (Settings → System), for TVs that grey it out, like the Google TV Streamer.
  • Trakt: a new app ID that any account can use, and clearer errors. If Trakt was connected before, connect it again.
  • Faster and lighter:
    • the open dock takes about a third of the GPU time it did, and slides are cheaper;
    • about half the memory, with 16-bit backdrops in Performance mode;
    • logos and backdrops retry when a download fails;
    • no more shaking in the Library or flicker when the dock opens.
  • The screensaver's Apple aerials work again (Apple took most of the old feed down, and Android didn't trust its certificate).

  • Apple TV slide (new default): the next picture opens up from the right with parallax, like the Apple TV app, and the glass dock, tiles and dots move with it. Slide and Fade are still there (Settings → Carousel → Slide animation).
  • Play + Next buttons: like Apple TV, Right from Play selects a round Next button; Right or OK on it shows the next title, Left on Play the previous one. Dark when not selected, white when selected, always in the same place. Settings → Carousel → Buttons (Play + Next / Play only / Hidden).
  • Liquid glass dots: clear glass drops on a glass capsule that stretch, join and part like water as you move (Settings → Carousel → Dots).
  • Official Nuvio and Nuvio Arc: titles now open in the official Nuvio TV app and in Nuvio Arc too. Open titles in → Auto uses the first installed: Nuvio Legacy, Nuvio (official), Nuvio Arc, Nuvio Re-Shaped.
  • Continue Watching from Trakt: connect your Trakt account with a QR code and a short code (no password on the TV); what you pause in any app that uses Trakt shows up.
  • Hide the Apps folder: Settings → Dock & icons → Show Apps folder, or hold OK on the folder → Hide from the dock.
  • 24 synopsis languages (Settings → Carousel → Synopsis language).
  • Update from the home screen: an Update pill next to the clock with what's new; go up to it and press OK.
  • TV access (ADB) guide in Settings → System: open About / Developer options, and an Allow Glassio button that shows what's done.
  • Glass keeps its refraction during slide changes (no jump at the end), lighter dots, and everything that fails quietly is logged under adb logcat -s Glassio.

Glassio 1.9.3

@mohammadmrh12 mohammadmrh12 released this 24 Oct 00:34
  • Sharp, unbroken glass: the clear dock and tiles now show the page picture itself instead of a small copy blown up 3–4×, so what is behind the glass is no longer pixelated or streaked and lines up exactly with the backdrop.
  • Settings need OK to change: rows set with ◀ ▶ only change after you press OK on them (they turn purple: "◀ ▶ to change · OK when done"); OK or Back ends it. Same for app order: OK picks an app up, ◀ ▶ moves it, OK puts it down.
  • Smoother slides: the backdrop and its shading are prepared once per picture, the next and previous pictures are prepared ahead (also with a non-TMDB artwork choice), and the dock glass fades in step with the backdrop.
  • Lighter dock: glass pictures stay on the GPU instead of being uploaded again for every tile on every focus move; a slide cut short by the next one can no longer leave the glass drawn twice.
  • Settings button: its focus animation no longer redraws the screen.

@mohammadmrh12 mohammadmrh12 released this 23 Oct 22:47
  • Sharpness removed: it made pictures grainy.
  • Lighter: glass pictures back to 480 px (720 px in Quality), memory-limited glass cache. Fixes the out-of-memory crash of 1.9.0 / 1.9.1.
  • App icons stay sharp with smaller decodes.

Glassio 1.9.1

@mohammadmrh12 mohammadmrh12 released this 23 Oct 22:36
  • Sharpness moved off the GPU (the screen went black at every slide on some TVs). Superseded by 1.9.2, which removes Sharpness and fixes an out-of-memory crash.

@mohammadmrh12 mohammadmrh12 released this 23 Oct 22:28
  • Settings navigation fixed: Left from a page returns to that page's category (it used to jump to the category next to the row and switch the page). Up/Down stay inside the page. The category list scrolls, so About is no longer cut off.
  • Auto-hide top bar: the clock and settings button stay hidden while you move around; they appear only when you go up to the settings button.
  • Performance → Auto (new default): picks Performance / Balanced / Quality from the TV's memory and graphics chip. New Glass detail (480 / 720 / 960 px) and Sharpness (GPU, Android 13+).
  • Sharper icons and text: app icons are read at the highest resolution the app ships, drawn with high-quality filtering; the Play icon is drawn, not a font glyph; text uses Inter Medium.
  • Artwork: Settings → Carousel → Artwork (Main, Second picture, Highest resolution, Add-on picture). On the carousel, hold OK (or Menu) to pick another picture for that title; it is remembered.

@mohammadmrh12 mohammadmrh12 released this 23 Oct 20:58
  • Fix: moving an app — after a step the focus jumped up to the carousel, and back on the dock the app would not move any more. Focus now stays on the app you are moving.
  • Fix: Back on the apps row — it only shrank the icon. It now starts the screensaver (when Back on the home screen starts it is on), closes the open dock, or ends move mode.
  • Icons help in Settings → Dock & icons: how to change one icon, use an icon pack, or import many PNGs, plus Find icon packs on Google Play.
  • Aerial Views, the recommended screensaver for Glassio: Settings → Screensaver → Install Aerial Views (Google Play), Make Aerial Views the TV screensaver, Open Aerial Views settings.
  • README: new Icons and Screensaver sections.

Glassio 1.8.1

@mohammadmrh12 mohammadmrh12 released this 23 Oct 20:12
  • Fix: Settings could not be reached from the dock when the carousel is empty. Pressing Up from the app row did nothing until a catalog was added (seen on TCL and other TVs on a fresh install).
  • The empty home screen now has an Open Catalogs button: Up from the dock lands on it, Up again reaches Settings, OK opens Settings → Catalogs directly.
  • Installs over 1.8.0; settings are kept. The in-app updater offers it automatically.
