Diablo 2 Access 1.3 beta
Pre-releaseCo nowego
What is new
- The mod announces monsters by itself. When a monster shows up nearby, the mod names it at once, for example "Monsters: Fallen, Zombie". For a larger group it names the first three and adds how many others there are. There is no need to press Page Down to learn that something is coming, and the announcement covers the whole range in which the game keeps monsters — further than the surrounding sounds carry.
Why not "a longer radar"
Measured in the game: the target list has no distance limit at all and shows exactly what the game has loaded. Monsters only come into being once the part of the level they stand in is loaded, which in the Blood Moor reached about twenty-two steps, while the sound cues carry twelve. The layout stored in the map does not help either: on that level the map knows 502 objects but only 2 monsters, because ordinary monsters are rolled when a room loads. So instead of raising a limit that does not exist, the mod reports monsters as soon as the game creates them.
