PureMac CLI is a terminal companion to the PureMac app that clears developer caches, purges project build artifacts, and analyzes disk usage - reusing the app's cleaning categories and safety rules.

Install

brew install momenbasel/tap/puremac-cli

Or download the tarball below (universal, signed with Developer ID, notarized) and put puremac on your PATH.

Commands

  • puremac clean [dev|junk|ai|trash] - scan, review, and remove caches, junk, AI-tool junk, or Trash
  • puremac purge [path] - find removable build artifacts inside project folders
  • puremac analyze [path] - rank folders by disk usage
  • puremac optimize [ram|purgeable] - free inactive RAM and release purgeable disk space
  • puremac ignore add|remove|list - protect paths from every scan
  • puremac config - show or change preferences

clean dev covers Homebrew, npm, Yarn, pnpm, pip, Cargo, Go, CocoaPods, VS Code, JetBrains, Maven, Gradle, Poetry, uv, Bun, Deno, mise, Flutter/Dart, NuGet/.NET, SwiftPM, Docker, and OrbStack.

Safety

Every deletion passes one gate: protected roots and config/credential dotdirs are refused, cloud File Provider state (iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive) is refused on both the literal and resolved path, symlinks and symlinked parents are never followed, and clean/purge print the full removal list for confirmation before deleting anything.
