slixmpp-omemo monal compatibility #1432
|
Hi, I'm trying to set up a simple echo-bot with slixmpp-omemo in python. In general, it seems to work quite well with Gajim(linux desktop) and Conversations(Android), but I can't say the same for Monal. For some reason, the bot is not able to decrypt Omemo-encrypted messages sent through Monal. Is there any known incompatibility between slixmpp-omemo and the Omemo encryption that Monal does? Is it fully compliant with the XEP-0384 directive? Thank you very much. |

Yes, it is fully compatible. Are you sure, your bot pulishes the prekeys and devicelist as "open" pep node (accessible by everyone) as opposed to only jids having a presence subscription? Monal even contains a self-healing mechanism that ries to start a new omemo session if it can't decrypt incoming messages, but that won't work, if it can't access the prekeys or devicelist. And of course your bot should handle omemo key-transport messages (omemo messages not containing any payload). |
