[2.18.1] — 2026-09-28

monograph watch no longer waits on a dead build that only looked alive (#370). The build lock held just a pid, and a pid only means something inside its own pid namespace: sandboxed tools give every command a fresh namespace with small, reused pids, so a killed sandboxed build left "pid 47" and the next sandbox found an unrelated pid 47 alive — every rebuild was deferred for up to 30 minutes. The lock now records its pid namespace and boot id: a lock from another boot is taken over at once, and one from another namespace once its 30-second heartbeat has been silent for 2 minutes.
monograph no longer prints git's own errors in a repo with no commits (#371). git rev-parse HEAD (and the git log/git status/git diff probes) inherited the terminal's stderr, so fatal: ambiguous argument 'HEAD' showed up during monograph watch even though the failure was already handled as "freshness unknown".
