Meeting Recording, Live Notes, and Multilingual Transcription

MacParakeet now has three main ways to work: dictate anywhere, transcribe files and URLs, and record meetings locally on your Mac.

  • Meeting recording — Capture microphone and system audio, then turn the meeting into a local transcript without sending audio off your Mac.
  • Live Notes, Transcript, and Ask — Take notes while recording, watch the transcript come in, and ask questions about the meeting as it develops.
  • Clearer permission guidance — If Screen Recording or Microphone access is missing, MacParakeet now points you to the right setup path before recording.
  • Optional WhisperKit multilingual transcription — Use a local WhisperKit engine for languages beyond Parakeet's English-first model.
  • Cleaner transcript defaults — Speaker diarization is now off by default for simpler transcripts. You can turn speaker labels on whenever you want them.
  • More polished setup and transcription — Onboarding, AI provider setup, file transcription, meeting recovery, and update handling all received reliability and usability improvements.

MacParakeet remains local-first: core dictation, transcription, meeting audio, and transcripts stay on your Mac.
