MacParakeet 0.8.5

The Transcribe tile could stay on Wrapping up after you stopped a meeting. That was a status label only — the recording was already saved. Capture and transcription were not stuck. 0.8.5 clears the label.

Fix

  • Wrapping up was only a label. After stop, the tile could keep saying Wrapping up even though mix, queue, and transcription had finished. Cosmetic. The tile now moves on to Transcribing, then idle. #1079 #1082

Also in this build

  • Start meetings muted. Begin recording with your microphone off, then unmute from the live meeting panel. System-audio-only capture ignores it. Off by default. #1054
  • Clean drops English “um”. Dictation and file transcripts strip standalone um along with uh, umm, and uhh. Portuguese and German: turn off Also remove “um” in Vocabulary. Meetings are not cleaned. #1053
  • Preserve discarded dictations. Optional. Cancelled dictations can stay in History, marked Cancelled. Nothing is pasted, including Paste Last. Needs Save dictation history. Off by default. #1057

macparakeet-cli remains 4.3.0.

Install

Download MacParakeet.dmg, open it, and drag MacParakeet to Applications. Existing users can also choose Check for Updates... in MacParakeet.

MacParakeet requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14.2 or later.
