Moose 0.6.0

@moooossee moooossee released this 07 Oct 16:30

Moose 0.6.0 adds secure cloud connections, a Files browser, and clearer chat loading indicators.

  • Connect securely to cloud providers using your own API key, with protected credential storage.
  • Enable Local Only mode to use only Ollama managed by Moose on your device.
  • Choose sharing permission for one chat or remember it across chats with the same provider. Messages and files have separate permissions, which you can reset in Privacy settings.
  • Browse, search, and filter attachments and library documents in Files. Preview files, reopen related chats, and attach them to the current conversation.
  • Explore an expanded local model catalog for chat, vision, reasoning, and coding.
  • See clearer waiting and reasoning indicators that disappear when the answer starts arriving.
  • External Ollama connections now require HTTPS, while connections on the same device can use HTTP.

Conversations, drafts, and your document library are stored locally. Content shared with a remote provider is processed under that provider’s data policy.

  • Pick up where you left off with saved drafts and attachments.
  • Review model downloads and retry interrupted ones.

The chat layout, model selector, and attachment previews have also been improved to feel simpler and more comfortable.

Moose 0.4.1 - Easier to Save and Find Chats

@moooossee moooossee released this 16 Jun 04:46

Moose 0.4.1 is a small but useful update focused on making conversations easier to keep, find and organize.
You can now export a conversation as markdown, JSON or plain text using the native file picker. The app only gets access to the file you choose, so it stays friendly with flatpak/flathub permissions.
This release also improves the chat history with search, pinned chats, archived chats, renaming and the usual delete flow.

It also fixes a database error that could appear when sending a message in some chats.

Moose 0.4.0 - Context and profiles

@moooossee moooossee released this 15 Jun 09:02

What's New

Moose can finally remember what you were talking about.

Conversations now include recent messages when talking to a model, so follow-up questions and longer chats should feel much more natural.

Every chat can also have its own personality. You can adjust its system prompt, temperature, preferred model, context size, and a few advanced Ollama options.

Not sure what to configure? Pick one of the new profiles for coding, writing, translation, reasoning, or everyday questions. You can tweak them freely or create your own profiles for later.

Everything stays on your device, just like before.

What's New

  • This release adds Markdown support to Moose chats, making conversations cleaner, easier to read, and more pleasant to use.
  • Messages can now show nicer formatting for things like lists, links, tables, and code blocks, so longer answers feel less cluttered and easier to follow.
  • Code blocks also look better now, making snippets easier to read and copy when you need them.
  • The chat view feels smoother while responses are coming in too, so everyday conversations feel a bit more polished.
