A test version. It works, and its look and features will still change. Please report what goes wrong.

Mox is a fast, resumable, multi-connection download manager, and this is its desktop app. Mox 1.8 is built in: nothing else to install, no Python.

  • Fast: many connections per file, and a progress bar that shows which parts of the file are on disk.
  • Hard to stop: pause and resume, and carry on after a reboot or an internet outage.
  • Your order: drag downloads into the order you want, send one to the front, or give one all the speed.
  • Watch while it downloads: a video can fill from the start and play before it is done.
  • Easy to add: paste text with links in it, or press Ctrl+V anywhere in the window. A fresh link for a file already in the list updates it instead of adding it twice.
  • Tidy: sorted into Downloads/mox/, with series in a folder per show and season. Mox never writes over a file of yours.
  • Out of the way: close the window and the downloads carry on, with the icon by the clock showing the speed. The list is still there after a restart, and a notification says when a download is done.

Install (Linux, x86-64)

sudo apt install ./Mox_0.2.2_amd64.deb # Debian, Ubuntu
chmod +x Mox_0.2.2_amd64.AppImage && ./Mox_0.2.2_amd64.AppImage            # any distribution

On Ubuntu the icon by the clock needs the AppIndicator extension, which Ubuntu turns on by default. Windows and macOS builds are not ready yet.
