First-contact onboarding guide
Brand-new sessions (created, not resumed) now receive a one-time guide: what the bot is, its current permission posture (derived from DSH_PERMISSION_MODE), and the slash commands. Config gate onboarding (default true).

/permission <preset>argument form — a bare/permissionshows a status line, not a menu (real first-use failure) - Distinguishes approval cards (click the button) from text listings (type the full command)
Workflow fan-out progress
tool-workflow/run-start | agent-start | agent-end | run-end now stream short lines into the chat, so a subagent fan-out is visible instead of a silent gap before the final answer.
Compaction notices
compaction/start announces context summarization (so a later "it forgot" is understood); a failing compaction is reported.
