New policy for Local Network Access (LNA) - Firefox 144

In firefox version 144, new permissions have been added.

• Device apps and services
• Local Network Devices

But there is no windows group policy to control this, similar to Camera and Microphone

Chrome and Edge has group policy LocalNetworkAccessAllowedForUrls.

Could you please add new policy to support these new permissions

Firefox 144 already released on 14th October 2025.
Could you share policy for reference to be prepared from our side.

This did not ship in Firefox 144. It is only available in Firefox Nightly. We are waiting for Chrome to release it.

Firefox 144 which released on 14th Oct 2025, actually have these permissions, configurable via "Settings > Privacy & Security", but do not have windows policy to control these.
To be clear, Chrome and Edge also have these released in the version 141 and Windows group policy is readily available.
Am I missing something ? Could you please check

Hi Mike, Chrome has shipped this and as we try to prepare clients for this change we're curious what the stance from the Firefox team is.

• Chrome 142 blocks fetch() and friends to local addresses without this policy set
• Chrome 145 will block WebSocket() to local addresses without this policy set

Since it's easiest to visit these policies together, is there any insight from the Firefox team as to how this will be rolled out? You've been very helpful in the past to help get ahead of policy changes and I was hoping that we could get some insight -- even speculative insight -- as to how this will be rolled out.

@MayyaSunil has been kindly sharing some insight over at the WICG thread, however last I tested, Firefox Nightly has removed the WebSocket restrictions (just fetch restrictions seem to remain) so any insight into this moving target is greatly appreciated.
