Releases: mpuig/CopyCopy

v0.5.2

Choose a tag to compare

@mpuig mpuig released this 05 Jul 18:26

Fixes the crash on launch present in v0.5.0 and v0.5.1. BrandFonts loaded fonts through SwiftPM's
Bundle.module, whose executable-target accessor only checks the .app root and a build-time-hardcoded .build path, so the packaged app trapped on startup on every machine
except the one that built it. Fonts now load from the app's own resources. See CHANGELOG.md.

v0.5.1

Choose a tag to compare

@mpuig mpuig released this 05 Jul 18:07

Fixes a crash on launch in v0.5.0: the brand-fonts resource bundle shipped without an Info.plist, so under
hardened runtime macOS could not load it and the app trapped during font registration at startup. See CHANGELOG.md.

v0.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@mpuig mpuig released this 05 Jul 16:45

Added

  • Freeform ask — a text field at the top of the action panel: type any request against what you copied ("rewrite formally", "make this 3 bullets", "what does this do") and get the answer streamed back, fully on-device. Requests that match a built-in skill route to that skill's tuned prompt; everything else runs a constrained general prompt. Result lands on the clipboard, ready to paste.

Changed

  • Redesigned floating action panel — the "Foundry" design system: steel-blue accent, machined radii, warm concrete surfaces, DM Sans / IBM Plex Mono typography. Both the ranked-actions and result states were rebuilt, and the tokens are adopted app-wide (Settings, Onboarding).

Includes everything from 0.4.1 (Sparkle auto-updates, notarization, Homebrew cask, permissions onboarding, suggestion cap, clipboard-classification perf fix, LLM crash-safety fix).

v0.4.1

Choose a tag to compare

@mpuig mpuig released this 05 Jul 11:27

Added

  • Auto-updates via Sparkle (EdDSA-signed) with appcast publishing.
  • Homebrew cask release publishing.
  • First-run onboarding explaining the required Accessibility/Input Monitoring permissions, plus live permission status with re-check in Settings → General.
  • Visibility into which built-in skills a custom SKILL.md has overridden, shown in Settings → General → Skills.

Improved

  • Suggested-action list is now capped to the most relevant matches instead of growing unbounded.
  • Clipboard classification/entity detection now runs off the main thread and is bounded for very large clipboard content, eliminating UI hitches on big copies.
  • Release builds are notarized via sign_and_notarize.sh.
  • Redesigned static docs site (copycopy.app).

Fixed

  • Potential crash in the on-device LLM inference path under memory pressure (unchecked C API allocations in the llama.cpp bridge).

Developer

  • CI now runs the full test suite (swift test) on every push/PR.
  • Fixed CI/release Xcode selection to avoid Swift-tools-version resolution failures.
  • Removed accidentally committed node_modules and release zip artifacts from the repository.

v0.2 - Smart Entity Detection & IFTTT Actions

Choose a tag to compare

@mpuig mpuig released this 31 Dec 08:34

What's New in v0.2

Smart Entity Detection

CopyCopy now automatically detects 20+ entity types in copied text using Apple's NLTagger, NSDataDetector, and pattern matching:

  • People & Places: Names, places, organizations
  • Contact Info: Phone numbers, emails, addresses, dates
  • Technical: IP addresses, UUIDs, Git SHAs, coordinates, file paths
  • Formats: JSON, Base64, URL-encoded, Markdown, code snippets
  • Social: Hashtags, @mentions, currency amounts
  • Languages: Foreign language detection

IFTTT-Style Action Editor

Actions now use an intuitive IF → THEN model:

IF content is [Text] and detected as [Email]
THEN [Open URL] → mailto:{text}
  • Cleaner editor with color-coded IF (orange) and THEN (blue) sections
  • Entity filter only appears when relevant
  • ESC key closes the editor
  • Icons auto-derived from action type

30+ Built-in Actions

New entity-specific actions like:

  • Email → Compose, Add to Contacts
  • Phone → Call, Message
  • JSON → Pretty Print, View in Editor
  • Coordinates → Open in Maps
  • Foreign text → Translate
  • And many more...
