Hello there, the download site seems to be down, for a least a couple of days.

mpv doesn't have a "download site", all artifacts are hosted on Github. If the download site is down, how are you posting this comment?

Those builds are provided by a third party that mpv just so happens to link to, you need to contact whoever hosts it if it's down for you.

I’m actually writing an article about open source cross-platform apps, mpv is definitely on the list. However, I can’t expect my readers to compile the app on their own. Also, even homebrew uses this third-party link, so I was unable to install. homebrew >cask< uses it (App bundle), homebrew does not (binary CLI). that homebrew uses this external bundled app is their decision. previously they generated the App bundle from the binaries they built themselves. which would also be an option (the better one).

i can just repeat llyyr, we are neither responsible for homebrew nor stolendata's builds, reporting any problems in that regard to us is meaningless. you have to report that to the appropriate people (stolendata) or projects (homebrew).
