Fontconfig error while runing CLI command of Cask app

When running CLI command of Homebrew Cask version of app (OS X binary package) I always get this error:

If there is a subtitle for the video, they are displayed as they should be.
Running the same command with non-Cask version doesn’t produce this error.

Maybe you should bring this up with whoever maintains the Cask package?

Looking at the installation instructions, I think it’s @ChrisK2 that maintains the package. @ChrisK2, do you know something about this?

I have no idea what a Cask package is, so I'm probably not in charge of that.

@ChrisK2 it is a homebrew extension which pulls your binaries https://github.com/caskroom/homebrew-cask/blob/master/Casks/mpv.rb

Oh I see. Ah yes, that happens because the config search path for the bundle is only added when using mpv through the bundle, not when using the executable from the terminal, so it doesn't find the fontconfig config in that case. Complain to @pigoz to change this or copy the fonts.conf in the bundle to your mpv config folder in ~/.config/mpv.

Okay, forget most of what I wrote above, the problem is a slightly different one: It comes up when the executable is run "outside" of the bundle. If you symlink it to some other place and then run it from the symlink, it won't find the configs in the bundle anymore.

There's really nothing we can do. When running from CLI, people should have their fonts.conf from their fontconfig installation.
