Virtua Fighter 3 Recomp v0.1.1-alpha

Choose a tag to compare

@mr-finster mr-finster released this 19 Oct 07:20

Hotfix for v0.1.0-alpha.

  • Windows with an AMD Radeon: the GPU renderer now starts on Vulkan, where Direct3D 12 could hold the game to 30 fps at any render scale. If Vulkan doesn't work, it goes back to Direct3D 12 by itself.
  • Smooth motion no longer gets stuck at 60 fps for a whole session after a slow first launch (Windows scanning the new exe, the driver building its shaders). It now goes back to 120 once things settle.

Same downloads as before: Mac, Windows and Steam Deck. Bring your own vf3.zip.

  • Antialiasing, scanline and CRT filters, gamepads, two players, the arcade's own settings
  • Mac (Apple silicon, Intel untested), Windows, Linux / Steam Deck

macOS 11+ VirtuaFighter3Recomp-mac.zip
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) VirtuaFighter3Recomp-windows.zip

You need your own MAME "vf3" set (vf3.zip, Revision D). No game files are included. Install steps and controls: see the README or https://vf3-recomp.pages.dev

It's an alpha: if something looks or plays differently from the arcade, open an issue with the log.txt from the game's data folder.

An unofficial fan project, not made, approved or supported by SEGA, and not affiliated with it.
