v4.10.0 — One take, and The Commuter

The Commuter — a 75-second one take, made overnight on one Mac. A gentleman cockroach in a homburg runs home through 1934 Broadway: marquee neon, a subway grate, the newsstand, steam, a taxi's chrome, rain, the tenement street, and the family waiting at the table. Rendered at native 1344×768 with Hailuo H3 and the new One take control, from one designed still, with a Suno score under it. The full film is attached below (the_commuter.mp4); the GIF is the first six seconds.

This release carries everything since v4.9.5. Update from the Pinokio sidebar; nothing needs re-downloading.

One take — a clip longer than one pass

• Video tab → One take: 30 s, 45 s, 1 min, 1½ min or 2 min. Write one beat per five seconds (prefilled from your prompt, one sentence each). The panel says how long it will take on your Mac before you press Generate.
• On Hailuo H3 the take renders as 15-second parts that each continue from the last frame of the one before, then joins them. On LTX it uses the chained-passes path, which is labelled experimental: the picture drifts across passes, so use H3 for a take you'll keep.
• Storyboard → Shots → "1 · one take": the planner writes the beats for you, by the rules below, and the film renders as the same take.
• Start each shot from a still (Storyboard brief): an image of the first frame is made first, from the character's sheet when the shot has one, and the clip starts from it. New still on the card remakes it.
• Long shots (Storyboard brief): a shot over 5 s renders as chained passes instead of being shortened. Needs the Q8 pack.

Turbo is the community's adapter now

• Turbo uses larryvrh's v4-600 EMA adapter at six passes — the setting its author recommends. In a same-seed test it held faces and fine detail better than exact, in 23% less time on a 5-second clip. The older adapters remain as fallbacks; the managed download fetches v4 directly with a verified digest; the time estimates were re-priced honestly.

The Editor grows up

• Trim and move behave like Premiere and After Effects. Pulling an edge changes only that clip (a hole opens or closes); dragging a clip moves only that clip, between its neighbours. Hold ⌘ to ripple everything after it; Shift still reorders. Edges are easier to catch.
• Transitions on the cut (dissolve, fade to black), speed per clip (0.25–4×, audio pitched right), titles on the overlay lane, framing (zoom and reframe per clip), retake a clip in place, duplicate, deliver as H.264 / HEVC / ProRes at as-cut, 1080p or 4K with an optional grain finish.
• The Director: drop a soundtrack on the Storyboard brief and the planner cuts on the beat, with sections (intro, chorus, verse) read from the music itself. Auto plans, renders, cuts and assembles in one press.
• Search the gallery by anything the sidecars know: prompt words, engine, size, seed, LoRA, character.

Quality of life

• Completion alerts: a chime when a render lands, a browser alert when the tab is in the background, and an "alert me even when the tab is closed" option (Settings → Completion alerts).
• Light theme (Settings → Appearance: Dark / Light / System).
• LoRA guides: "Write a guide" in the picker has the planner write what a LoRA does, how to prompt it and a strength to start from. Check for updates finds newer versions of your CivitAI LoRAs and installs them in one click.
• Writing for Phosphene: a short prompting guide at /docs/prompting (linked from One take and the Storyboard) with a button that copies it for your own assistant. The Storyboard planner already follows it.
• H3 native renders are no longer shrunk to 720p on export by default.

Fixes

• The chained-passes path costs the same per window now; it used to grow with the clip (window 4 took three times window 2).
• Working files from long renders never appear in the gallery.
• Deleting an H3 clip takes its audio and stage cache with it (#77). H3 install/update works again after the upstream decoder repo vanished (pinned, hash-verified source). Fleet telemetry blind spots filled.

Known limits

• A one-take carries only its last frame between parts, so a scene change (through a door, into a room) needs a beat of its own with the approach in the beat before; the planner does this for you. Per-part anchors and "retake part N" are next.
• Native H3 at Turbo costs about 31 minutes per 5 seconds on an M4 Max 64 GB; a minute is an evening. Test the first beat at High before committing the night.
