Portty v0.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@mrtechnoo mrtechnoo released this 24 Jul 12:47

Portty is a small command-line tool to securely share a terminal with a paired phone. This release ships the two command-line programs — portty (wrap and share a terminal) and portty-host (the paired-device host daemon).

Windows and Linux are available now. macOS builds are being added to this release shortly.

Install

Download the archive for your platform below, unpack it, and put the two programs on your PATH. Each archive contains portty, portty-host, and the licence texts.

Verify your download against SHA256SUMS before running it:

  • Windows (PowerShell): Get-FileHash .\portty-v0.1.2-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc.zip -Algorithm SHA256
  • Linux: shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS

A note on security warnings

These binaries are not yet code-signed. On Windows, double-clicking portty.exe may show a SmartScreen warning; running it from a terminal (PowerShell / Windows Terminal) does not. This is expected for unsigned open-source tools — verify the SHA-256 hash above and you can trust the download. Signed installs via Scoop, WinGet and Homebrew are coming.
