VaultBridge v1.3.0
VaultBridge v1.3.0
VaultBridge v1.3.0 adds verified Obsidian note relationships across REST, MCP, and the Web Dashboard, together with optional MCP note creation and appending.
Highlights
Obsidian note relationships
- Safe parsing and resolution of Obsidian wikilinks.
- Verified outgoing note links and backlinks derived from live Markdown.
- New protected REST endpoints for links and backlinks.
- New MCP
note_linksandnote_backlinkstools. - Dashboard Relationships UI for outgoing links and backlinks.
- Markdown remains authoritative; no persistent graph database is introduced.
MCP write support
MCP remains read-only by default.
When MCP_WRITE_ENABLED=true, VaultBridge additionally exposes:
create_noteappend_note
These reuse the existing REST write semantics and targeted semantic reindex behavior.
No delete, overwrite/edit-in-place, automatic backlink insertion, or arbitrary file-management tools are added.
TrueNAS MCP configuration
The TrueNAS package source includes first-class configuration fields for:
- MCP HTTP
- MCP Writes
- Allowed Hosts
- Allowed Origins
These settings use the existing VaultBridge Web Port.
Updating the public TrueNAS Community App to VaultBridge 1.3.0 is a separate catalog delivery step.
Graph-aware retrieval evaluation
VaultBridge includes deterministic and real-model evaluation of relationship-aware retrieval.
The evaluation showed a relationship signal, but the evidence did not justify changing production ranking. Existing semantic/lexical ranking, model, chunking, and index/storage formats remain unchanged.
Compatibility
- Existing REST compatibility routes remain unchanged.
- MCP HTTP remains disabled by default.
- MCP writes remain disabled by default.
- No SQLite schema migration.
- No semantic-index format change.
- No production ranking change.
- Markdown remains the source of truth.
