v1.21.0
VuloGearSets
v1.21.0 (2026-10-17)
Full Changelog Previous Releases
After updating, restart the game once: this version brings a new file, which a /reload does not load.
- New: Situations (Automation page). Pick a set for being mounted, swimming, holding a fishing pole or eating and drinking; it comes off again afterwards. Pick sets for battlegrounds, arenas, dungeons, raids, cities and inns or the open world; they go on when you get there. Out of combat only, and situations never change what "Back to previous gear" returns to.
- New: In combat, equipping a set by its key, the sidebar or the minimap menu swaps main hand, off hand and ranged weapon right away; the rest of the set goes on when combat ends instead of being refused. Switch: "Swap weapons in combat" on the General page (not on Forever, where only the after-combat part applies).
- New: Share a set as text. Right-click a set and choose "Export as text...", paste it with "Import set..." on the Saved Gear Sets page, or use
/vgs export <name>and/vgs import. - New: Copy sets from your other characters on this account, at the bottom of the Saved Gear Sets page.
- New: "Next gear set" and "Previous gear set" keys in Blizzard's key bindings, also as
/vgs nextand/vgs prev. - New: Ammo is saved with the ranged weapon and equipped with the set.
- Improved: The sidebar's Save button shows an asterisk when what you wear differs from the selected set.

VuloGearSets
v1.20.0 (2026-10-13)
Full Changelog Previous Releases
- New: The settings window has pages: General, Sidebar & Minimap, Automation, Slot Picker & Sockets, Saved Gear Sets and Commands & Info. Every option has a tooltip, and each page has "Reset page", next to "Reset all" at the bottom. Gear sets, keys and spec or form bindings are never reset.
- New: The sidebar's fine position can be set with sliders under Sidebar & Minimap and moves live while the character window is open.
- New: "Take from bank". With the bank open, right-click a set (or use
/vgs fetch <name>) to move its missing pieces into your bags. - New: Chat messages when equipping: All, Only problems or None (General page).
- New: "Allow keys for gear sets" switch on the General page.
- New:
/vgs general, sidebar, automation, slots, setsorinfoopens that settings page;/vgs helplists every command. - Changed: "Remove from set" in an item's menu is now two entries: "Empty this slot when equipping" and "Stop managing this slot". The item tooltip in the sidebar shows what left- and right-click do.
- Fixed: A slot swap the game refused, such as a one-hander into the off hand without dual wield, no longer counts as equipped. It gets its own message, and "Back to previous gear" keeps the right items.
- Fixed: Equipping a set with rings or trinkets worn crosswise no longer reports a failure for the second slot.
- Fixed: Turning off set keys or the gear sets module during combat no longer leaves the key bound or the riding crop equipped; both are cleaned up after combat.
- Fixed: Spec auto-switching works right after buying dual spec, without a reload.
/gearset speconly shows the state and no longer equips a set. - Fixed: The socket bar's overwrite question also checks the item, so a set switch while it is open can no longer destroy a gem in the wrong item.
- Fixed: Replacing an item in a set shows it in the sidebar right away and, on Forever, updates Blizzard's copy of a worn set.
- Fixed: The sidebar no longer starts at another character's position for a moment after logging in.
v1.19.0
1.19.0 — 2026-10-13
- New: Saving under the name of an existing set now asks first. Saving only trinkets, weapons, rings or armor under an existing name also warns that all other items leave the set.
- Fixed: Opening "Set key..." and entering combat no longer turns your next ability key into the set key or causes a blocked-action error; the prompt now closes when combat starts.
- Fixed: A set with two identical rings or trinkets equips both again.
- Fixed: Equipping a set that empties several slots at once no longer claims your bags are full.
- Fixed: A swap the game refused no longer counts as equipped, so "Back to previous gear" keeps the right items.
- Fixed: Saving a set while riding with the automatic riding crop stores your trinket, not the crop.
- Fixed: Deleting a set also removes its spec and form binding, so a new set with the same name starts unbound.
- Fixed: Spec labels show the talent tree name again on TBC Anniversary and Classic Era ("Spec 1 (Shadow)").
- Fixed: Logging in no longer equips a spec-bound set before the addon has read your active spec.
- Fixed: The in-combat message for a set key shows again in later fights.
- Fixed: Dragging sets to reorder them in the sidebar no longer breaks off when loot arrives.
- Fixed: The item picker lists copies of the same item with different gems or enchants separately.
- Fixed: Changing or removing an item in a set now updates its macro icon and the settings window.
- Fixed: The socket bar no longer goes blank after hiding the interface with Alt+Z.
- Fixed: A socketing window the addon opened now closes if picking up the gem fails.
- Fixed: Renaming or deleting a set during combat updates its macro once combat ends.
- Fixed: The minimap button follows the cursor correctly on a scaled minimap.
- Fixed: "in" and "Slot" in the item picker are now translated.
1.18.1 — 2026-10-11
- Fixed (Forever): an icon picked in Blizzard's edit window for a linked set now carries over to VuloGearSets, as renaming already did.
1.18.0 — 2026-10-11
Blizzard's equipment manager now works both ways on Forever.
- New (Forever): a set you create or save in Blizzard's equipment manager is saved in VuloGearSets too, with the slots Blizzard stored and the icon you picked, and stays linked.
- New: Renaming a linked set or changing its icon in Blizzard's edit window carries over, including its key binding, spec and form binding, and macro.
- New: Deleting a set in Blizzard's window never deletes it in VuloGearSets.
- Improved: Shirt and tabard no longer count when comparing a set with Blizzard's copy, so a set made in Blizzard's window is not silently rewritten.
1.17.3 — 2026-10-11
- Changed:
/vgs(or/gearset) on its own now opens and closes the settings. The command list moved to/vgs help.
1.17.2 — 2026-10-10
- Fixed: The "Equip" and "Save" buttons in the sidebar no longer come up without text after logging in or reloading. The sidebar is built while the loading screen is still up, before the addon's font can draw; every text is now redrawn as soon as its window appears.
- Fixed (Forever): item tooltips no longer flicker when hovering a gear set item at a vendor or in your bags.
1.17.1 — 2026-10-09
- Changed (Forever): windows and menus no longer have a soft shadow, which looked like a grey rim around the metal frame. Classic and Modern keep it.
- Fixed: The "Equip" and "Save" buttons could still come up without text after logging in. Every button of the addon now draws its own label.
1.17.0 — 2026-10-06
- New: New languages: French, Spanish, Russian and Simplified Chinese, next to English and German. Spanish covers both the European and the Mexican client.
- New: On Russian, Chinese and Korean clients the addon's texts use Blizzard's font, since the bundled font has no Cyrillic or Chinese letters.
- Fixed: The "Equip" and "Save" buttons in the sidebar sometimes showed no text after logging in.
- Fixed: Dropdown lists in the settings opened partly behind the window. They now open on top, right below the list.
- Fixed (Forever): the socket bar's tooltip no longer mentions an addon that does not exist there.
1.16.0 — 2026-10-04
- New: The icon picker offers the game's own icons, the same list Blizzard's equipment manager and macro window use: every spell and item icon of your client, after "Auto" and the icons of the set's items.
- New: Filter between all icons, spells and items. The current icon is marked and in view when the picker opens. Drag the scroll bar to get through the list quickly.
- New: A chosen game icon also shows on the set's macro and, on Forever, on Blizzard's copy of the set.
- New (Forever): with the Blizzard themes the icon picker looks like Blizzard's own, with its frame, item-slot backgrounds, filter dropdown and scroll bar.
- Changed: The 209 bundled set icons are gone. A set that used one of them falls back to its automatic icon; pick a new one from the game's list.
- Changed (Forever): the slot flyout on the character frame has a slim frame in your theme's colour and sits tighter around the items.
1.15.0 — 2026-09-28
After updating, restart the game once: this version brings new files, which a /reload does not load.
- New: Back to previous gear. Every set switch remembers what the affected slots held before. Put it back on from the minimap menu, from its own key in Blizzard's key bindings (under VuloGearSets) or with
/gearset back. Press it again to switch forward. - New: Put a set in the bank. With the bank open, right-click a set and choose "Put in bank": the set's pieces in your bags move into free bank slots; what you are wearing stays on. Also as
/gearset bank <name>. - New: Place a set on your action bar. Right-click a set and choose "Place on action bar". On Forever you get Blizzard's copy of the set, otherwise a macro with the set's icon. Renaming, deleting or changing the icon keeps the macro in step; a macro you rewrote yourself is left alone.
- New (Forever): sets are also kept in Blizzard's equipment manager as soon as you save or fully wear them, so they are stored on the server and other addons and bag windows see which items belong to them. Renaming, deleting and icon changes follow along; Blizzard sets that are not ours stay untouched. Switch: "Also keep sets in Blizzard's equipment manager", on by default.
- Improved: The addon's own texts (menus, buttons, settings) now use the Expressway font. It was bundled all along but never picked up.
- Improved: The automatic set icon is always the one of the first item in slot order instead of a random one.
- Improved: Set names are trimmed at the edges when saving, like when renaming.
- Improved: Item tooltips no longer list a set twice when Blizzard's own line already names it.
- Fixed: Blizzard's icon picker for a new set in the equipment manager opened underneath the gear sets sidebar.
1.14.0 — 2026-09-27
- New: World of Warcraft: Forever support. The addon loads on the Forever client and does everything it does on Anniversary: saving and equipping sets, binding sets to your two talent groups, stance and form switching, equipping from the bank's tabs, the slot picker, the socket bar and the set line in item tooltips. The sidebar sits next to the character window's side tabs.
- New: "Forever" window style, the default on Forever. It takes the look of VuloForeverUI: its colors and, with its Blizzard themes, the client's metal frame. The sidebar wears the background and border of Blizzard's own equipment manager, with Blizzard's "New Set" button.
- Changed: The "New Set" button has a new look on every client: a dark card with a thin gold border, a green plus and green text.
- Fixed: Stance and form names on Anniversary and Classic Era. The form list only showed "Form 1/2/3" and flight form was never recognized, so druids never got the Charm of Swift Flight in flight form. Forms now show their real names.
1.13.0 — 2026-08-29
- New: Slots that were empty when a set was saved are emptied when you equip it. A set saved wearing only a few pieces, say nothing but jewelry for a graveyard run, used to answer "already equipped" and leave your armor on. Equipping now takes off whatever sits in those slots and puts it in your bags, with its own chat line and a warning when your bags have no room. Even a set with no items at all works now.
- New: Removing an item from a set in the editor now means "this slot should be empty" rather than "leave this slot alone". Sets saved before masks existed behave as before.
- Improved: The status dot counts those extra worn pieces too: a set only turns green once its empty slots really are empty.
1.12.2 — 2026-08-29
- Fixed: Two copies of the same item with different gems or enchants now actually swap. Sets tell the exact copy apart by its gems, enchant and random suffix, and equipping swaps in the one the set was saved with.
- Fixed: The sidebar status dot uses the same logic as the equip button, including a hint when the right copy is sitting in the closed bank.
- Fixed: If a saved copy can no longer be found anywhere, for example after re-gemming it, the set falls back to matching by item ID so nothing is wrongly reported as missing.
1.12.1 — 2026-08-17
- New: A set can show or hide your helmet and cloak. Right-click a set in the sidebar: the Helmet and Cloak entries cycle between leave as is, show and hide. The choice applies whenever the set is equipped, even if no item had to move.
- New: The default is leave as is, so existing sets behave exactly as before. The set tooltip only mentions the setting when the set actually changes something.
1.12.0 — 2026-08-17

1.18.1
- Fixed on Forever: an icon picked in Blizzard's edit window for a linked set
did not carry over to VuloGearSets; renaming already did.

1.17.1
- Fixed: the "Equip" and "Save" buttons in the sidebar could still come up
without text after logging in. Every button of the addon now draws its own
label. - Forever: windows and menus no longer have a soft shadow around them; it

list only showed "Form 1/2/3", and flight form was never recognized, so
druids never got the Charm of Swift Flight equipped in flight form. Forms
now show their real names.
1.13.0
- New: slots that were empty when a set was saved are now emptied when you
equip it. A set saved wearing only a few pieces — say, nothing but
no-durability jewelry for a graveyard run — used to answer "already
equipped" and leave your armor on. Equipping now takes off whatever sits in
those slots and puts it in your bags, with its own chat line ("%d items
taken off") and a warning when your bags have no room (those pieces stay
on). Even a set with no items at all works now. - The status dot counts those extra worn pieces too: a set only turns green
once its empty slots really are empty. - This reads a set the way it was saved: removing an item from a set in the
editor now means "this slot should be empty" rather than "leave this slot
alone". Old sets from before masks existed only know their occupied slots
and behave as before.
1.12.2
- Fixed: two copies of the same item with different gems or enchants now
actually swap. Two pieces sharing one item ID — say, the same shoulders
socketed once for damage and once for resistance — counted as the same
item, so switching sets left the worn copy in place. Sets now tell the
exact copy apart by its gems, enchant and random suffix, and equipping
swaps in the one the set was saved with. - The sidebar status dot uses the same logic, so it agrees with the equip
button — including a hint when the right copy is sitting in the closed
bank. - If a saved copy can no longer be found anywhere — for example after
re-gemming it — the set falls back to matching by item ID as before, so
nothing is wrongly reported as missing.
1.12.1
- A set can now show or hide your helmet and cloak. Right-click a set in
the sidebar: the Helmet and Cloak entries cycle between leave as is, show
and hide. When the set is equipped — by double-click, key, spec or form
switch, or the quick-switcher — it applies that choice, even if no item had
to move. - The default is leave as is, so existing sets behave exactly as before. The
set tooltip only mentions the setting when the set actually changes
something.
1.12.0
- New: gear sets can be put in your own order. Right-click a set in the
sidebar for Move up and Move down, or simply drag it: a shadow of the row
follows the pointer, a coloured line marks where it will land, and the list
scrolls on its own when you reach the top or bottom edge. Letting go saves
the order. - The order is kept per character and applies everywhere sets are listed —
the sidebar, the quick-switcher menu, the settings page and the Sets line in
item tooltips. - Until you move something, the list stays alphabetical as before. Once you
have, new sets join at the bottom.
1.11.1
- Fixed: a set that is already on stops repeating itself in chat. Clicking an
equipped set again, or pressing its key a second time, said the same sentence
every single time. The outcome of an attempt that moved nothing is now
remembered and reported once. - What is remembered is the whole outcome, not just the name — so if a missing
piece turns up in your bags in the meantime, the line is news again and comes
back. The refusal during combat works the same way, which a key makes very easy
to trigger three times in a row. Anything reporting a real swap always comes
through.
1.11.0
- New: a gear set can sit on a key. Right-click a set, pick Set key, and the
next key you press belongs to it. Pressing it equips the set exactly like a
double-click on the row, wherever you are — the character window does not have
to be open. Modifiers count, ...

follows the pointer, a coloured line marks where it will land, and the list
scrolls on its own when you reach the top or bottom edge.

- New: a gear set can sit on a key. Right-click a set, pick Set key, and the
next key you press belongs to it. Pressing it equips the set exactly like a
double-click on the row, wherever you are — the character window does not have
to be open. Modifiers count, so Shift-1 and Alt-F are separate keys, and the
middle mouse button along with mouse 4 and 5 can be used as well. - The row tooltip names the key, and the ...

1.17.2
- Fixed for good: the "Equip" and "Save" buttons in the sidebar came up
without text after logging in or reloading. The sidebar is built while the
loading screen is still up, before the addon's font can draw; every text of
the addon is now redrawn as soon as its window appears. - Fixed: item tooltips flickered on Forever while hovering an item at a
vendor or in your bags that belongs to a gear set.
1.17.1
- Fixed: the "Equip" and "Save" buttons in the sidebar could still come up
without text after logging in. Every button of the addon now draws its own
label. - Forever: windows and menus no longer have a soft shadow around them; it
looked like a grey rim around the metal frame. Classic and Modern keep it.
1.17.0
- New languages: French, Spanish, Russian and Simplified Chinese, next to
English and German. Spanish covers both the European and the Mexican
client. On Russian, Chinese and Korean clients the addon's own texts use
Blizzard's font, since the bundled font has no Cyrillic or Chinese letters. - Fixed: the "Equip" and "Save" buttons in the sidebar sometimes showed no
text after logging in. - Fixed: dropdown lists in the settings opened partly behind the window.
They now open on top, right below the list. - On Forever the socket bar's tooltip no longer mentions an addon that does
not exist there.
1.16.0
- The icon picker now offers the game's own icons — the same list
Blizzard's equipment manager and macro window use: every spell and item
icon of your client, after "Auto" and the icons of the set's items. Filter
between all icons, spells and items; the current icon is marked and in view
when the picker opens. Drag the scroll bar to get through the list quickly. - A chosen game icon now also shows on the set's macro and, on Forever, on
Blizzard's copy of the set. - The 209 bundled set icons are gone. A set that used one of them falls back
to its automatic icon — pick a new one from the game's list. - Forever: with the Blizzard themes the icon picker looks like Blizzard's
own, with its frame, item-slot backgrounds, filter dropdown and scroll bar.
The slot flyout on the character frame has a slim frame in your theme's
colour and sits tighter around the items.
1.15.0
- New: back to your previous gear. Every set switch remembers what the
affected slots held before. "Back to previous gear" puts it back on — from
the minimap menu, from its own key in Blizzard's key bindings (under
VuloGearSets) or with/gearset back. Press it again to switch forward. - New: put a set in the bank. With the bank open, right-click a set and
choose "Put in bank": the set's pieces in your bags move into free bank
slots. What you are wearing stays on. Also as/gearset bank <name>. - New: place a set on your action bar. Right-click a set and choose
"Place on action bar". On Forever you get Blizzard's copy of the set,
otherwise a macro with the set's icon. Renaming, deleting or changing the
icon keeps the macro in step; a macro you rewrote yourself is left alone. - New on Forever: sets are also kept in Blizzard's equipment manager as
soon as you save or fully wear them, so they are stored on the server and
other addons and bag windows see which items belong to them. Renaming,
deleting and icon changes follow along; Blizzard sets that are not ours
stay untouched. Switch: "Also keep sets in Blizzard's equipment manager",
on by default. Item tooltips no longer list a set twice when Blizzard's own
line already names it. - The addon's own texts — menus, buttons, the settings window — now use the
Expressway font. It was bundled all along but never picked up. - The automatic set icon is now always the one of the first item in slot
order instead of a random one, and set names are trimmed at the edges when
saving, like when renaming. - Fixed: Blizzard's icon picker for a new set in the equipment manager
opened underneath the gear sets sidebar. - After updating, restart the game once: this version brings new files,
which a/reloaddoes not load.
1.14.0
- New: World of Warcraft: Forever support. The addon now loads on the
Forever client and does everything it does on Anniversary: saving and
equipping sets, binding sets to your two talent groups, stance and form
switching, equipping from the bank's tabs while the bank is open, the slot
picker, the socket bar and the set line in item tooltips. The sidebar sits
next to the character window's side tabs. - New: "Forever" window style, the default on Forever. It takes the look
of VuloForeverUI — its colors and, with its Blizzard themes, the client's
metal frame. The sidebar then wears the background and border of Blizzard's
own equipment manager, with Blizzard's "New Set" button. - The "New Set" button has a new look on every client: a dark card with a thin
gold border, a green plus and green text. - Fixed: stance and form names on Anniversary and Classic Era. The form
list only showed "Form 1/2/3", and flight form was never recognized, so
druids never got the Charm of Swift Flight equipped in flight form. Forms
now show their real names.
Letting go saves

own, with its frame, item-slot backgrounds, filter dropdown and scroll bar.
Pressing it equips the set exactly like a
double-click on the row, wherever you are — the character window does not have
to be open. Modifiers count, so Shift-1 and Alt-F are separate keys, and the
middle mouse button along with mouse 4 and 5 can be used as well. - The row tooltip names the key, and the right-click menu grows an entry to take
it away again. A key belongs to exactly one set: hand it to another one and the
previous owner loses it and is told so. Renaming a set carries its key along,
deleting the set drops it, and the whole assignment lives per character, just
like the sets themselves. - Blizzard's own key bindings are never rewritten and nothing is left behind when
the addon is off. The other side of that: while the addon runs, the key takes
precedence over whatever else uses it, and it does not show up in Blizzard's
key binding list. Keys cannot be changed during combat — a change made there is
applied the moment combat ends. - Changed: the item list for the weapon slots opens downward. The three
weapon slots sit as a row under the character model, so a list opening sideways
had nothing to cover but the neighbouring weapons. It now unfolds below the
slot and only flips up when there is genuinely no room.
1.10.0
- New: item tooltips name the gear sets an item belongs to. Hover anything in
your bags, at the bank, on your character or a link in chat, and a line at the
bottom lists the sets it is part of. It can be turned off under Gear Sets. - Items are matched by their item ID plus random suffix, so an enchant or a gem
never hides the line, while a Ring of the Bear and a Ring of the Owl stay
apart — in Classic those two share one ID. - New: gear sets equip from the bank. With the bank window open, the parts of
a set sitting in yo...

Changelog
