2.2.11-alpha
Fixes a startup crash on Windows when the game is in a folder whose name has accented or other non-English characters, such as Mega Man X Recompilé. The game closed immediately with a crash report and never reached the launcher.
- Windows paths are now handled as UTF-8 throughout, so ROMs, saves, logs and Mods work from any folder name. This includes ROMs picked from such folders in the launcher.
- If a path still can't be read (Windows 10 older than version 1903), Mods report an error and the game starts without them instead of crashing.
- The engine now tracks the main snesrecomp release line. It includes the fixes 2.2.4–2.2.10 carried separately (Boss Rush hook capacity, mod audio across rollback, AppImage keybinds), plus 12 newer upstream engine updates. Generated code was rebuilt from them.
Validated on Windows: CTest 22/22, an 18,000-frame soak, and the packaged build starting, loading Mods and verifying the ROM from a Mega Man X Recompilé folder. The Linux AppImage was also checked from an accented folder.
Download the Windows ZIP or the Linux x86_64 AppImage below. Both players should update before starting a new netplay session.
Changes: #130 (with RetroPortingToolKit/snesrecomp#188, #189 and RetroPortingToolKit/recomp-ui#109)
