Improves the default diagnostic recorder used to reproduce co-op bug reports.

  • Replay history now retains up to one hour, instead of roughly one minute. Machine checkpoints have a 256 MiB budget; heavy rollback or repeated state loads can shorten the retained window.
  • Replay file writes and state hashing run on a background worker. Detailed co-op CSV writes and rotation also run in the background. Fixed-size queues prevent a growing backlog; a recording that cannot keep up stops with a runtime-log warning instead of waiting for storage during gameplay.
  • New recordings use a stable source-ROM identity. Older Saber Zero captures, including the original #110 uploads, pass strict ROM validation without editing their headers.
  • Normal quit drains the writers before SDL shuts down.

Replay diagnostics remain enabled by default, including for existing installations. The optional detailed Developer traces remain off by default. After a bug, quit normally and attach the session's complete logs files from both players if possible, along with what happened and roughly when. Include every replay segment and its sidecars; leave source ROMs out of the attachment. Run-ahead currently suspends replay recording.

Validated the packaged Windows and Linux executables against all 24 original captures from #110 and #113 (13,086 recorded executions per platform). Muted Windows co-op play completed a 6,175-frame route with recording enabled and disabled; all 11 newly recorded detailed-session segments replayed exactly. Two packaged LAN peers also captured and replayed successfully. Shared writer tests cover blocked storage, bounded queues, rotation, immutable state copies, and SDL2/SDL3.

The ride-armor visuals and camera behavior reported in #110 remain under investigation; this release improves the evidence needed to reproduce them.

Implemented in snesrecomp #175 and integrated in MMX #115. The recording workflow credits Mega Man X4 Playtest Diagnostics, PR19.
