Monster Party Recompiled 0.1.2

Optional cheats and Prototype Restoration are now available in Mods. Everything starts disabled.

Cheats include invincibility, one-hit kills, Endless Bert, starting energy and round, walking speed, and jump height.

Prototype Restoration 1.0 is by Cubivore10. It restores title-screen colors, monster artwork and scenery, and works with adaptive widescreen, save states and rewind. Select it before starting the game. Original source · Current archive.

Windows: extract the complete ZIP. Linux: make the AppImage executable and open it. Select your original Monster Party (USA) ROM; no ROM is included. F7 opens save states; F8 opens rewind.

Monster Party Recompiled 0.1.1

Adds save states and rewind for Windows and Linux.

• F7: twelve save slots with thumbnail previews. S saves; Enter loads.
• F8: choose an earlier moment with Left/Right, then Enter to resume. Escape cancels.
• Controller: Back + L3 opens save states; Back + R3 opens rewind. X saves, A loads/resumes, B closes.

Rewind starts enabled. Its history settings are in the launcher.

Monster Party 0.1.0

The first Monster Party Recompiled release for Windows and Linux.

• Play the original eight-round adventure with keyboard or controller support and the recomp-ui launcher.
• Optional adaptive widescreen: Fit window, 16:9, 21:9, or 32:9. Aspect is the only setting.
• Enemies appear across the wider view, the stage camera stops at level edges, and the life bar stays centered. Boss rooms keep their centered presentation.
• Quick save/load and configurable controls.

Windows: download and extract the complete MonsterParty-0.1.0-windows-x64.zip, then open MonsterPartyRecomp.exe.

Linux: download MonsterParty-0.1.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage, make it executable, and open it. Targets Ubuntu 22.04 or newer and comparable distributions with OpenGL 3.3 support. If FUSE is unavailable, use --appimage-extract-and-run.

Select your original Monster Party (USA) ROM and choose PLAY. No game ROM is included. Enable widescreen under Mods > Display.

Quick saves are specific to a build; keep the game's passwords for progress you want to carry into future updates.
