This update fixes four visual defects reported during Steam Deck testing:

  • Keeps HUD and minimap pixels inside their native horizontal area, removing
    stray rows across widescreen margins.
  • Preserves the centered pause menu throughout unpause fades, preventing menu
graphics from being drawn as expanded room scenery.
  • Extends the Morph Ball Eye's light cone into widescreen margins, including
    moving-camera frames.
  • Clips static and parallax backgrounds at authored room boundaries, avoiding
wrapped unused tilemap columns outside the room.

Validation includes all 15 native tests on each release platform, 28 captured
scene/aspect combinations, and matching simulation traces across stock,
widescreen and 90 Hz presentation modes. The tester completed the previous
release's campaign without lockups; these fixes have not yet received a full
Steam Deck campaign retest.

Gameplay audio crackles, the reported Brinstar map-close timing stutter, and
broader enemy/effect culling remain under investigation. Original-game
comparisons confirmed the reserve gauge's partial-fill animation and the
Etecoons stopping their song after pausing; those behaviors are unchanged.
