Capturo 0.17.0 — Windows x64

Capturo 0.17.0 is the first release with built-in stable-release checking. It also rolls the
GIF-preview, startup, and privacy-effect improvements developed since the previous public
v0.15.1 release into one tested Windows build.

Highlights

  • Check for updates manually from Settings → Global, or opt in to an automatic check after
    launch and at most once per 24 hours.
  • Review an available release through Capturo's fixed official GitHub Releases page. Capturo
    never downloads or installs an update and never embeds a GitHub credential.
  • Preview completed GIF recordings before export, then Copy, Save, Open folder, Retake, or
    Discard. Windows GIF Copy preserves animation through a native file clipboard entry.
  • Optionally open Capturo at sign-in through Settings → Global.
  • Control Blur and Pixelate with independent 1–100% Intensity percentages.
  • Keep large or slow GIF recordings bounded with timestamp-correct playback, two-frame encoder
    backpressure, localized palette work, and optional frame-count/progress visibility.

Platform and signing

  • Tested and released for Windows x64 only.
  • This release publishes the interactive Windows installer. The portable executable remains a
    local validation artifact.
  • The installer is not Authenticode-signed, so Windows may display an unknown-publisher warning.
  • macOS remains untested, unsigned, un-notarized, unsupported, and is not published.
