Capturo 0.22.3
Added
- Open in full tab moves a selected screenshot into a normal resizable, minimizable editor
window while preserving the current annotations and editing tools. - Color Picker wheel magnification provides five discrete levels: 8×, 12×, 15×, 22×, and
40×. The tighter levels progressively slow selector travel for precise pixel selection, and
arrow keys remain available for exact single-pixel nudges.
Fixed
- Color Picker now opens and samples correctly on macOS. Picker startup no longer relies on an
Electron screen-conversion API that is declared but absent in the macOS runtime; display image
dimensions now use the platform-neutral display size and scale factor. - Color Picker movement stays aligned with the physical pointer. Absolute screen-space deltas,
synchronized native-window recentering, and bounded owned-selector coordinates prevent the
magnifier from jumping past the cursor, reversing, oscillating, or disappearing during fast
movement and abrupt direction changes. - Magnifier trails and stale frames are eliminated. The aperture and color caption are painted
together in one frame-synchronized canvas, with pointer input coalesced to one visual update per
display frame. - The Color Picker hex readout is sharp on scaled displays. Device-pixel backing stores,
pixel-aligned placement, and a clearer Segoe UI caption remove the former low-resolution blur. - Fast pointer movement no longer exposes the Windows arrow cursor during a live picker
session, including while the protected compact window is catching up. - Maximum zoom remains controllable during very fast mouse movement through zoom-specific
movement factors and speed ceilings. - Live samples cannot cross monitor ownership. Delayed grids are accepted only for the current
display, point, and zoom size. - Color Picker no longer blurs, greys, or blacks out browser video on Windows. It uses a compact
protected window and live native pixel grids rather than a monitor-sized transparent Chromium
surface. - Open in full tab no longer leaves an invisible editor blocking retries. Capturo waits for the
detached editor to decode and visibly acknowledge its checkpoint, and clears failed or timed-out
windows. - HDR screenshots retain hue and chroma in very bright and dark scenes. Out-of-range RGB values
are tone-mapped with one shared scale instead of independent channel curves.
Changed
- Color Picker is live and no longer freezes or tints the desktop. Screenshot and GIF region
selection retain their frozen-desktop workflow. - Shift no longer changes Color Picker movement. Precision is controlled exclusively by wheel
zoom or exact arrow-key nudges; there is no temporary modifier-driven focus mode. - Highlighter colors are substantially brighter while retaining translucent marker blending
and readable content underneath. - The Color Picker opens directly without an instruction popup or zoom/focus badge.
- Capture, GIF, and Color Picker shortcuts accept any Electron-supported non-modifier key by itself
or in a combination, including bare Print Screen when Windows allows its registration.

The macOS packages are an unsupported preview. They are ad-hoc signed and unnotarized because
Capturo does not yet have an Apple Developer ID certificate. Gatekeeper therefore requires manual
intervention after download, and Screen Recording permission may need to be granted again after an
upgrade.
Verification
- Type checking, all 210 automated tests, the production build, and Windows x64 packaging passed.
- Regression coverage verifies macOS display-pixel sizing, frame coalescing, full-canvas clearing,
zoom-scaled motion, recentering, display ownership, detached-editor readiness, and the absence of
Shift-driven picker precision. - The packaged macOS arm64 build was exercised locally through picker rendering, exact selection,
clipboard copy, the result window, the Command+Shift+9 shortcut, and Esc cancellation. - The DMG passed
hdiutil verify, and the ZIP passed a completeunzip -tintegrity check. - Both Windows executables report product and file version 0.22.3.
