Choose a tag to compare

@murphsicles murphsicles released this 19 May 23:48

Zeta Transpilation

The first pure Zeta release of bsv58. The Rust implementation has moved to the rust branch — this branch is now pure Zeta.

API

  • encode(input: []u8) -> string — Base58 encode
  • decode(input: string) -> []u8 — Base58 decode (no checksum)
  • decode_full(input: string, validate_checksum: bool) -> []u8 — with optional checksum

Changes

  • src/bsv58.z — Pure scalar Zeta implementation
  • Rust source removed (preserved on rust branch)
  • README updated with Rust vs Zeta branch documentation
  • CI updated for Zeta builds

Next

Integrate into nour as the base58 module dependency.

bsv58 v0.1.0

Release Date: November 15, 2025

🚀 Highlights

  • Ultra-Fast Base58 Codec for Bitcoin SV: Hardcoded Bitcoin alphabet with leading-zero '1's handling and optional double-SHA256 checksum validation.
  • Production-Ready Scalar Core: Full encode/decode roundtrips, checksum stripping, and exhaustive BSV corpus tests (genesis hash, burn addresses, txids).
  • Efficient & Lean: ~200 LOC, static tables, no allocs in hot loops, ~5KB binary—optimized for wallets, nodes, and high-throughput BSV apps.
  • Perf Baseline Locked: 6.0+ GB/s encode/decode on scalar (5x bs58-rs SIMD); benchmarks vs baselines included.
