hello!
i updated and changed a few things:

  • phong model changed, no more exponent cap
  • metalness works better
  • rimlight looks better (applies to the entire model now, not just metalness)
  • thanks to rimlight, phong fresnel looks better
  • envmaps generated for more accurate roughness
  • added help/guide (help.md, can be navigated to through "?" button in the tool)
  • streamlined the workflow to be easier
  • added maximum texture size
  • fixed opengl normal
  • auto envmap tint (generated from average metallic color)
  • full use of phong albedo tint (tool now only works best for cs:go and gmod, for other games you'll have to use phongboost)
  • fixed space in paths problem (#4)
  • fixed some issue with output path (#3)

its done

  • back to color2, no more desaturation from tool (will generate albedo with 0 alpha if metalness is missing)
  • env uses normal map alpha
  • phong albedo tint support (can have colored metals mixed with other stuff in the same texture, no stacking required)
  • vtf compression settings
  • mipmap settings
  • removed confusing settings
  • added optional glossy fresnel ranges
  • added alternate file names to metalness and ao
  • textures dont have to be same resolution anymore
  • bundled cubemap (in "stuff" folder)
  • added 32bit vtfcmd (if you get executable errors, replace vtfcmd.exe and the dlls with that)

all in all im pretty happy where the tool is at right now. wont change how textures are generated so youre free to use this release as final,
the only things changing from now on are qol improvements, ui and bug fixes

in case youre wondering, this tool still does not generate rimlight on all glossy surfaces (deliberate, as it rarely looks good when all over the model) and does not tint reflections nor does it blur them (no engine support for that)

more batch settings
normals export as dxt5 (saw no difference between rgba8 and this)

theres a bug with vtfcmd where it doesnt like spaces in the paths. ill fix eventually
i started a new branch for phong albedo tint
