• If it is a frontend issue, I have tried a different widely used browser
• For voice problems, I have sought help elsewhere before returning here
• For playback problems, I have recycled power to the physical device

The problem

After a new setup it is not possible to play Spotify playlists any more. This will give the following error:

For me the root cause seems to be the changed Spotify API according to https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/references/changes/february-2026.

Yes we know. We will look at what can be salvaged for the Spotify provider since the API changes soon

I have a similar issue. Only official Spotify Playlists are still working. personal or playlists from other users can no longer be opened.

Confirming this on MA 2.7.11 / HA Core 2026.3.2 / HAOS on x86-64.

Traced it to the source — the stable and dev branches both still use the removed endpoint. In providers/spotify/provider.py:

• Line 591: f"playlists/{prov_playlist_id}/tracks" → should be /items
• Line 685: add_playlist_tracks POST to /tracks → /items
• Lines 693/700: remove_playlist_tracks DELETE to /tracks → /items

Individual track playback works fine — only playlist operations hit the 403.

Per Spotify's Feb 2026 changelog, GET /playlists/{id}/tracks was replaced by GET /playlists/{id}/items. Also note: playlist contents are now only returned for the authenticated user's own playlists.
